Since DTG has licenses for both UP and BNSF, how about some timetable trains on the Pass using UP equipment, like the SD70Ace from SH. UP has had a trackage rights agreement with Santa Fe for many years and it continues in the BNSF era. These UP train run the full length of the route we have.

For some reason they didn't do this, and is a bit annoying. I'm also pretty sure UP has coal trains that are sent to one of the Cement plants near Victorville.

Without these trains, it also makes the 2 crossovers on Cajon Pass useless, as they are used to route UP trains from the Palmdale Cutoff to BNSF Cajon Sub so they can reach UPs line that splits at Dagget east of Bartsow to head to Yermo and beyond (Las Vegas and SLC)

UP Big Boy #4014 and FEF3 #844 have done excursions over Cajon Pass, as well as Challenger #3985. These three steam locos could be great for excursion passenger trains over the route.
