Game Update Update Notes - April 11th 2024

Good morning everyone,

Today we begin releasing our Spring Core Patch, which brings a range of improvements to core features and key fixes across various add-ons such as London Overground, Maintalbahn, Rosenheim, Arosa Line and for the ÖBB 4024 loco. Additionally, a few changes have been made to Nahverkehr Dresden, Glossop Line and Blackpool Branches.

Alongside the full patch notes detailed below, the Formation Designer beta will be available to console players with this update.

The following changes will be live on Steam, Epic Games and PlayStation platforms shortly. As a note for Xbox: These changes won't be live yet, we’re aiming for these changes to come to Xbox players ahead of the weekend, and we will keep you updated on more information on our update thread.

Headliners
Core

• Formation Designer beta is now available on console platforms.
• Player Assist settings will now correctly save their configuration on console platforms
• Correct scoring adjustments when using safety systems, and various adjustments to scoring thresholds to enable medal collection on Maintalbahn, Bremen Oldenburg, Rosenheim and Blackpool Branches.

London Overground

• Class 710 passenger doors will no longer show as Locked if automatically closed.

Maintalbahn

• Improvements to substitution to allow for the 628 and the red 363 to appear in AI traffic

Arosa Line

• Updated Gepackwagen to use the TSW4 updated glass weather effects

• Improvement to ensure correct function of Door HUD elements when coupling and uncoupling

• For PS5 users, the ‘BKG: Jobgoblin' trophy will now unlock correctly after collecting all the route tasks

• Custom weather should correctly appear when restarting the game and playing after user creates a scenario.

Formation Designer

• Formation Designer beta is now available on console platforms.
• Maintalbahn stock should now be correctly utilised in Formation Designer
• Rosenheim stock should now be correctly utilised in Formation Designer
• Fixed a crash instance when adding and duplicating locos
• Fixed a crash instance which occurred when adding custom formations

London Overground

• Fixed issues with various passenger behaviour during the Football Focus scenario.
• Fixed floating grass outside of Barking Riverside
• Passengers will now sit correctly on the benches at Barking Riverside
• Platforms at Barking Riverside will now correctly react to Snow / Rain.

Class 710

• Passenger doors will no longer show as Locked if automatically closed.
• Restricted Passenger door open buttons from being operational whilst moving
• Fixed brake release sounds not playing when moving from emergency to notch 3
• Adjusted GSMR start-up audio
• Increased volume of safety system sounds when played through haptic controller

Maintalbahn

• Improvements to substitution to allow for the 628 and the red 363 to appear in AI traffic
• During the Running on Vapours scenario, stopping at Aschaffenburg Sued should no longer be exact and should clear at any point within the ribbon.
• Adjustments to scoring thresholds on various scenarios to ensure gold and platinum medals are achievable as expected.
• Fixed various services which weren’t completable (including EKZ 54871)

BR 642

• Added controls for Ebula brightness and contrast, and screens will start in contrast by default at night.
• Adjustments to throttle sensitivity

ÖBB 4024

• Adjusted PIS to correctly display on all 4024 screens (front, side and interior)
• Should now correctly be listed in the Scenario Planned with “off the Rails” switched off
• Updated collision for the seats and cab to prevent player from climbing up on seats and seeing through the roof.
• The driver character will now correctly appear when the player sits in the driver's seat.

Rosenheim

• First aid kit sounds should now be played when collecting wall mounted first aid kits found at stations.
• Adjustments to scoring thresholds on the Malfunctioning Madness scenario to ensure gold and platinum medals are achievable as expected.
• Fixed instance of a main signal way with a wrong placed PZB magnet on approach to Übersee.
• Removed floating trees in the distance near Rosenheim

Dopplestock

• PIS will now include correct usage of umlauts
• Added yellow line above door to reflect real life design.

BR 111

• Fixed safety system audio not playing after reloading from a save or when returning to the train from far away.
• Fixed an issue where safety system indicators stopped working after reloading from a save.
• Adjusted handbrake application force to be more prototypical
• Adjustments to the tap changer system and how it reacts to the throttle lever input to be more prototypical
• Various audio adjustments to brake squeal

Arosa Line

• Updated Gepackwagen to use the TSW4 updated glass weather effects
• Minor adjustment to EW1 audio to ensure the sounds are as expected.

RhB Arosa Aggregates Pack

• Fixed an issue with players being stuck when collecting the mail bag during the Mail Delivery scenario
• Updated Hakone Livery so front is now orange in colour
• Fixed the direction of the coupler on the FAC wagon and ensured the coupling works correctly.

RhB Anniversary Collection
GE44 loco

• Fixed cab numbering so that it will either show ‘I’ or ‘II’
• HUD and minimal HUD functionality should work as expected
• When using the Bernina Line livery on the GE44, you should be able to drive close to other vehicles with issue.
• Fixed an issue on the R1433 (11:07) service which prevented the loco from moving.

GE44II loco

• Adjustments to ensure cab decals and external numbering is correct.

Nahverkehr Dresden
BR 185

• Driver assist should not show messages related to pantograph or circuit breaker when running, unless appropriate
• Various changes to ensure save game stores the correct status of the loco.

Glossop Line

• Corrected the ‘32.3 Miles Driven’ reward to trigger at 32.3 miles, and not 3.23 miles.
• Fixed a crash when using the NJP Class 37 without having SEHS installed

Blackpool Branches

• Updated various scoring thresholds to more appropriate values.

Hello, we are pushing the update live for Xbox players shortly this morning. You should expect to see these changes rolling out to your systems this morning, but please allow up to 24 hours for the updates to come through.

As a note, we have excluded the above Rosenheim changes for Xbox whilst our team look into community feedback regarding the BR 111 tap-changer operation.

Update - 12/04/24

We've just shipped a change to Steam and Epic Games that reverts this tap changer functionality patch on the BR 111 back to how it was prior to the update. Thank you for the feedback on this, we will continue to support the community where we can, please let us know of any issues after this update has been installed.

 

Update - 15/04/24

We've just shipped an improvement to players on Steam platforms that addresses a couple of community reports since this update went live. These changes are as follows:

• Fixed an issue preventing the player from acknowledging the AFB speed on the Vectron via keyboard input
  
• Fixed a visual error on the Class 375 having a stretched texture for the gangway
