Hi,.. mi suggestion is: Considering the great improvement of Koln-Aachen route, with much more layers, getting more traffic -which is great! - , I believe it will be really nice, if you could extend the route, to the other side of the Rhin! But just, to the first station: Koln Messe / Deutz. I suggest this due to: - It is just 1km away. - It will provide the chance to drive over the fantastic and famous Hohenzollern bridge! The bridge is already there in the sim, so DTG does not have to create it. - Only modification, will be to extend the tracks up to the Koln Deutz Messe, station. Which it is a simply station, as there are no special big buildings and something like that. So no much work will be needed, but will provide nice views of the bridge, and Koln Hbf Note: I suggest this new part just be used for Regional trains - BR 146 + Dostos / Talent / Talent 1, etc. As it has not sense for ICE or IC trains to cross due to, they do not stop there. Is Ok if they big trains arrive and start to Koln Hbf, as today. What do you think?
They aren't going to extend it. It would require a team of people and dtg are working at multiple things at once.
Do you mean, ICE and IC, stops at Koln Hbf, and Koln Deutz Messe too, being so close? Or, some services stops on Deutz Messe only?
It will probably be unlikely that they would extend the route to Deutz Messe simply because it's just adding a single station across the River... Me personally, I'd love any sort of expansion but realistically it's unlikely. Maybe in the far future when people have figured out how to extend routes with the editor.
Thanks for your comment. Well.. as it is a simply extension of the route,... but the main issue here, is to have the chance to drive over that really famous train bridge!. Considering DTG will add more services. So Koln Messe will receive more Regional ones too. Of course to have a longer route will be great, but this will take much time to DTG. I believe my suggestion, will add that feature, with no so much work for this little update.
I agree completely with your suggestion. I love the Hohenzollernbrücke, was already once on it when I was a child and stayed at the Hyatt hotel at southeast side of the bridge. It's a very remarkable spot for both trainspotting (as many trains stand on it either waiting for entry in the main station or are as long that they reach up to there) and the many "love locks" couples locked to the fence on the bridge. However, I complain a few things you said I would even say it's less than that. Maybe 600 to 700 Meters. Technically, You even can visit Köln Deutz yet in a very minimalistic stage. German Youtuber and TSW ambassador Felix der Weise once did a travel to rudimentary Deutz. There are no skyscrapers or extremely tall buildings in Deutz, but north to Deutz station is a very large complex building with a unique tower to it, which reveals its purpose by the side name Deutz also has "Köln-Messe". "Messe" means convention. It's a big convention center. In this complex building there resides also Germany's biggest private TV channel RTL with huge stage rooms. So this should be created as custom asset as well to to be authentic. EDIT: I just rewatched the linked video above and some parts of that are already created. ICE run over and even stop in Deutz. For example, the ICE line towards Frankfurt of the much suggested Schnellfahrstrecke Rhine-Main.
Both! A lot of services headed for the highspeed line towards Frankfurt (Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Rhein/Main, KRM) only stop in Deutz to save time. While the Hohenzollernbrücke is beautiful and famous, it's also a really slow track, all the way down to 30km/h. Some days an ICE or IC stops at Messe/Deutz every 10 minutes. The whole lower floor, Köln Messe/Deutz (tief), is almost exclusively used by long-distance trains afaik. And in addition to trains trying to avoid Köln Hbf there are a few ICEs that start in Köln Hbf but then also stop in Messe/Deutz as it's along their route anyway. But that's pretty rare.
Well, a TODv4 update would be all I want. (There'll be no extension anyway.) A Cologne-Dusseldorf DLC would also be welcomed.
Thanks for your comments and photos. Yes my idea came, when I saw a video of trainspotting at Koln Deutz Messe. I noticed the builings passing the station. But as mentioned the main point for my suggestion, is to have the chance to drive over the bridge. I believe it is also a great place for Photomode. The bridge, Koln Hbf, Koln Catherdral, the river, etc. So DTG could make just "general buildings", not exactly ones, you can see after the station, just in order to have some scenery around. I do not want to make this thing more complex for DTG. Due to it is just a suggestion to add, apart of the new lot of layers, which will be available for the route.
