the class 700 traction motor doesn't bug me despite being inaccurate and sounding like the Class 350, but it still needs to be updated to sound like the real Class 700 using DC/3rd rail. so is there a reason why it sounds like the Class 350 or what? edit at 7/28/2024 (M/D/Y): thanks to him i remember why it sounds like a class 350, i almost completely forgot about that
They couldn't record a real life 700. Armstrong didn't let them buy the 700 dc sounds (apparently there's some controversy where ap used sounds without getting permission from the original author), only the ac sounds. So dtg had to find other options and that was to record a 350 and implement it for the class 700.
Still no excuse for not digitising decent sound from the material they have got, after sending the sound engineer out for three days to travel on the things so he eats, drinks and dreams what they sound like in his sleep. And still no excuse for the imbalance in levels so if you turn the speakers up to try and hear the DC sound, you get deafened by passing trains. Not to mention the sound mix has a very audible loop to it as well. Sadly despite the hype, this rapidly became another quick buck fire and forget DLC so I hold out next to no chance of DTG going back in and fixing it.
DTG Will hope and pray the Modding community will fix it, just like the missing panto on the RE9 Timetable routes and so much more, many of which are sound-related.
