Listen, The Harlem Line is great, a bit short, but it is still a good route. But I would like for some things to be added/upgraded. 1. Update A.I. Trains to blast the horn before coming into a station. In real life, engineers are required to do a long blast before entering a platform, whether it is stopping or passing. If A.I. were updated to do this, it would give the route a more realistic feel especially when riding trains or watching them. Example Video (36:00) 2. Add Announcements. Announcements would give the route a more realistic feel. Van Ritshie's voice is iconic on Metro-North and Long Island Railroad. This would give anyone operating, riding, or watching trains a more realistic feel. Example Video (1:21) That is all. Please consider!
Good idea on paper and if you read this reply about automatic announcements there's a reason to why it will not happen in game
or they can extend the line up to southeast or they could add more yankee stadium east 153rd street or they could make a suggestion for the grand central station concourse
I’d rather they do something minimal for the route since it was not long ago that the route was released.
Would love to see AI trains sounding their horns. It looks like DTG is trying to work its way towards doing that since Spirit of Steam had multiple instances in scenarios and tutorials where trains were sounding their whistles. Would be a nice little touch to the route
There are other comercial avaiable Train Sims on Steam that have announcements. Some real some just similar to the real ones. Why would they have no problem but it would be a legal problem for DTG?
Well they have to get a license for the onboard announcements. I know it sounds dumb, but unfortunately, that's how it is. Now idk if they are able to just get a voice actor to do the announcements, but yeah they are licensed.
I highly doubt a announcement thats just similar to the real one...like "next stop xy" would be "licenced". Honestly that sounds like a excuse. As i said: Other train sims use "fake but similar" announcements and they sell on steam so i doubt they get in legal trouble for it. What Matt probably said was that they can not get the actual annoncement (same voice and music/sounds). But they just could do them similar with a different voice and without the real sounds/music used,
Really good point but problem is that the voice actors must come close to the original Van Ritchie announcements on Harlem Line and LIRR.
Yeah. Plus the Glasgow Subway route that was just added to TS has announcements on it. Using fictional voices would definitely be the way to go. If people are gonna complain that the voice isn't accurate, sucks to be them
It would be nice if they just added more if not all the services. London Brighton route has double the number of services and the London Underground is getting an added 700 more services with the new update.
The time tables for the Harlem is factua. Wish they had the M8 red trains for the new haven line and the diesels like the P32AC-DM, hopefully the Hudson line and the new haven line are next of the list
l hope the hudson line and new haven line come to Train Sim World 2 Because they are based at Grand Central Terminal like the harlem line
Me 2. I love the Harlem line, but will b more interesting if they extended to Goldens Bridge (to make a 24 mile route with more points), as well as the NYC subway with three contenders: J/Z, L or 7. Same with LIRR extension to GCT with Port Washington branch east of Woodside in Queens.
They should also fix the audio on the M7A. You cant hear the propulsion sounds at the rear of the train.
They are able to. All new lines are able to. Its just their decision. It would be nice for an extension up to Southeast but whatever.
Dtg have said the issue is to create a seamless experience for the timetable. Modifying it can break the game with the tech they have currently. They said they are looking towards a modular system that makes extensions/mergers possible, but they don't have that yet.
