I have TSW4 on PS4 and want to upgrade to PS5. My main concern is that I don’t lose my PS4 profile and my progress (levels, medals and mastery etc) to date so can anyone tell me if this will transfer ok and if so, what is the correct procedure to do this. I assume with the routes it is just a matter of downloading the new versions but again, is there a specific way or order to do this?
I'm pretty sure you can transfer your profile over. It should ask you to do it as soon as you boot up the ps5 version. Just don't delete the ps4 version until everything has transferred over. As for the routes and locos, you'll need to redownload them
You will need to start with a new profile. I think your Mastery should transfer over as you will be signing in to Dovetail Live with the same account and that’s where the Mastery data lives but you will lose medals and levels I’m afraid. Downloading the routes etc. should be easy but beware there are PS4 and PS5 versions of TSW and all DLC available on PS5 and you may need to manually stop and delete any PS4 versions from downloading to save disk space if you only want the PS5 version of the game. It’s a bit of a pain. It’s well worth it for the big improvement of the game on PS5 especially if you have a 4K TV.
Adding on from this the TSW3 and potentially the TSW2 version of the dlc may also install so those will need to be deleted as well
