Preface I love TSW3 and honestly there is not much to complain about. Yes there are imperfections but considering I came from TSC this new engine Unreal is totally amazing and the team at DTG has done extraordinary things!!! Issues noted (but the game is still playable!) I am a real world driver/engineer and I know with a long freight train (Australia is 70PSI pressure not 90PSI like USA) it takes a considerable amount of time for a Brake Pipe to exhaust in a brake application. There is a lot of air there in those triple valves. Even TSC had this set to some degree of accuracy especially in Canadian Mountain Passes. But simugraph get's it so right (yet the bugs defeat the whole purpose and when I made a ticket before all i got was the back locomotives supply BP which in this case the argument does not exist. It simply is a requirement for simugraph to be programmed accurately and that is why I want some kind of choice between 'realism and arcade... expert...advanced and arcade etc even if it is just a box before launching the game with your preferences-but if not please just have the air brake released for those that hate waiting 5-10 minutes depending on train length and the simugraph information to be checked because it is way too fast to apply an air brake. I will go re-assess now to check...but I am confident-this is driving with the SD70 so I am not sure it is the locomotive I need to check others) I am driving down the mountain into the San Bernardino valley and have noticed the air brake exhausts instantly! Well on a 50 in length train that should take about 10 seconds for 2-3 PSI minimum reduction and full service being 30-60 seconds. Numbers don't lie. If the air brake doesn't exhaust instantly then why is the Brake Pipe pressure gauge dropping so quickly? SD 40-2 has air brake emergency bug. When emergency brake set, even PCS reset procedure does not work. SD70 has illogical configuration, especially compared to all the other locomotives. Links above will fill you in.
Ok testing the brakes I feel I got it wrong. Simugraph works. It does a long time for the brake to exhaust. 10/10 But the 2 other issues linked above still need addressing. SD70 rolls back and then you get a screen of sky at drivers controls.... if you don't quickly cut the air in. SD40 can't get power if an emergency brake is made. Need to restart.
