I am downloading the update s now on my X Box series X ,starting this thread for US content only on Console Beta , want to hear and see what others are doing experiencing etc with US content etc . Im posting it in this first unless a moderator feels it needs moved to the formaton desiner side.
from some of the early reports i ve been reading it s getting off to a shaky start , I have seen a few thing s US content wise done on formation designer . Guess since console players can at least try some things and give feedback to DTG hopefully they will figure out solutions to make formation designer better ..
I did a test run with formation designer on X box series X did free roam spawned at the barstow depot area on CJP spawned 1 each of most US freight cars , were several types that did not spawn, was 3 types could only spawn 5 cars 29 cars the refer cars gave 50 cars only choice, for locomoitives spawned a SD40 2 CJP es44c4 and a es44 all 3 wouldnt operate properly had brake release issues would bail off independent only to have it automatically re apply to 7.6 when let go of the lever train would only pull if i held independent on release the whole time , on the SD40 2 got brakes to release but wouldnt apply .thats what ive tested so far will try more later
my test train in formation designer consisted of, 1 csx SPG box car 1 clinchfield 3 bay coal hopper , 2 auto racks csx and cn,1 UP double door box car 1 blue center beam HSC ,1 CCS covered hopper ,1 2 bay ballast hopper ,1 husky stack car , 2 89 foot flat cars 1 each from HSC and Cjp, 1 ns ribbed side HSC covered hopper 2 ns HSC beth gons 1 yellow DTGX boxcar,1 Dot tank car ,1 BNSF CJP covered hopper 1 bnsf double door box car.
Did 2nd round with formation designer .this time spawned into the South Fork pa yards on HSC , used a creators club livery SD70ace made up a 20 car freight and ran up to Winber mine ran around my train and operated. Long hood forward back to the yard , had fun it worked great with no issues
plus i chose the south fork to windber branch since it is non signaled and can operate freely , can go back and fourth on the branch dont need to line a route . Going to try sand patch grade route next spawn on the S&C rockwood branch and see how things go ,saw where at first some wrre having issues when trying to line a route in signaled territory and had crashes or could nt get route to line so i havent tried that yet . There tons of stuff i want to try eventually ,will post on here my results or issues i run into right now im focusing on US content or using UK and other content on US routes
Today i did formation designer in free roam on Sand Patch . Spawned 2 GP 38 2s each with a different creators club livery the GP38 2 i used were the UP ones ..made up a 24 car freight on the Rockwood mine branch then lined a route to sand patch summit after stopping there i lined another route to Mance area. Stopped there and ended my run worked good no issues
I tried building another long and complex US manifest train, and it froze the game again, so that's still not fixed
Ive noticed when i try to make a train over 25 cars it don t like it . Seeing others been having issues when trying longer trains is the reason why i been testing with short trains .today i may try something longer and see what happens . Will post results here later
Todays run was fun in free roam formation i did electric powered freight in NY Trenton built my train just south of Trenton depot .Used 2 amtrak ACS 64 s spawned 10 auto racks and 50 reefers , i set the brake mode to freight , lined a route as far as the tunnel to NYC . Took off got top speed of 129mph beween trenton and south of newark before slower speeds more curves definitely enjoyed this run fast electric freight on NEC ..had no issues
Todays formation designer run was johnstown to altoona spawned a 65 car train with 3 conrail scheme sd70 ace s . Did try the regular formation creator itself tried building a train in it got to use my creators club liveries saved formation but cant get the formation. To spawn or even show .did file search to no avail ..only way formation designer. Works for me is to it in free roam mode and i just spawn what cars i want and go from there.
