With the British Cargo Line Intermodal DLC Pack coming soon, I'd like DTG to think about doing some packs for US routes. I could see some new or existing locos in these packs. Here are some of my ideas: 1. Ethanol Train: -Existing Locos: UP SD70ACe or AC4400CW; BNSF ES44C4 or SD70ACe; CSX AC4400CW or C40-8W; NS ES44AC -New Locos: ET44AC (UP, NS, CN, CSX); ES44AC (BNSF, UP, CN, CSX, NS (including Heritage Units for both RRs); BNSF ET44ACH/ET44C4 or C44-9W (also CN); NS SD70ACU, SD70ACC, SD70ACe/IAC, or AC44C6M (also CN); UP or NS SD70M; UP SD70AH-T4, AC6000CW/C4460AC/C44ACM (also CSX), or SD59MX -Rolling Stock: 30K Gallon ethanol tank cars; buffer cars (especially the correct BNSF Airslide covered hoppers) 2. UP Rocket Booster Train: Yes, this is a real train! UP runs rocket booster engines from Ogden, UT to the Midwest where they interchange the cars with NS for transport to Florida. They would see service eastbound over Sherman Hill -Rolling Stock: Heavy-duty flatcars (loaded and empty); boxcars for weight distribution; boxcar with clearance bars -Locos: Any UP loco from list above 3. BNSF Boeing Fuselage Train: Again, this is a real train! BNSF runs Boeing 737 airplane fuselages and other equipment from Wichita, KS to Renton, WA for final delivery. Look it up. These trains are really cool. Plus, I like the green color of the fuselages. Personally, we should get a BNSF Scenic Sub/Stevens Pass, Seattle-area, Marias Pass, ex-Montana Rail Link (MRL, which was purchased by BNSF recently), or Wichita-area route to run the Boeing Fuselage Train on. -Rolling stock: 89' Intermodal Flatcars (loaded and empty); Skybox airplane parts cars (loaded and empty) -Locos: any BNSF loco from list above -US Military Train: The British freight packs include a military train, so we should get one for the USA. Plus, UP switches military cars at the base in Yermo, CA (near Barstow, where BNSF's main yard on Cajon Pass is located). -Rolling Stock: Flatcars with tanks -Locos: any of the US locos
The fuselage transport would be unique indeed, and advocate for it more than booster rockets, since they seem to occur with greater frequency and can be easily penciled into an existing timetable. But the issue is, where these are freight DLCs for existing routes, I don't believe we have an existing route that we can run such a consist on. No routes set in Washington State yet.
The Boeing Fuselage Train was included in Microsoft Train Sim's version of Cajon Pass with one of the DLCs. The Rocket Booster Train runs on Sherman Hill, so that would work. The ethanol tank train could be seen on any US route, as could a military train.
