Hello: I'm new to TRS 2021. I have for sometime be playing and route building with Trainz12, TANE and Trainz 2019. I bought TRS 2021 at a friends suggestion and have finally been able to spend some time with TRS on a dedicated drive for it. I like it a lot. A bit more intense to learn than Trainz but I like the build module and what you can do with it. Planning to bring one of my routes from Trainz into TRS. which I call LONG BEACH RUN. running from the port of long beach CA. to the BNSF Hobart yard in LA. I notice on the content list there are no US signals, level crossing or locos. My question is where can i purchase or download a package for USA railroads. Locos are at the Store but cant find any signals etc... Any help would be appreciated and thanks. Great Game. Vivet
Either the US Asset pack, which is included with some routes on Steam, or use some from other US routes on steam.
The US Asset Pack is fairly old, but virtually everyone has it, and it contains many assets for Cajon Pass. An alternative is to look up the routes in the relevant region and use them as assets: Pacific Surfliner Peninsula Corridor Some mountain route if relevant, to add assets, such as Donner Pass, Feather River, or any other around CA (or even NS Coal District for lush areas) Some BNSF route for equipment, Marias Pass might be the most relevant but there are newer ones (and Stevens) The risk always is that people complain about the need of too many prerequisites. On the other hand, many of these were staple content and people interested in the area have them anyway. I also like (workshop) routes with mixed vegetation, they tend to be more versatile and pretty. You could also look for the Mojave workshop route and check its prerequisites. (Normally in TSC you slowly build a collection of routes of interest, then mix and match for added realism.)
I would get the Pacific Surfliner route - one end is LA Union Station and it comes with the Signal Assets you would need https://store.steampowered.com/app/222606/Train_Simulator_Pacific_Surfliner_LA__San_Diego_Route/ http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic_252726#9/33.3615/-117.1774 You just missed it in the Sale but another will be along around Christmas
