The most disappointing thing for me about TSW3 is the lack of new experiences - and the failure to build on the introduction of steam. Surely US steam in the transition era would sell well? How about the legendary routes like the Virginia and Truckee or the Maryland and Pennsylvania? These would offer a new experience - and a real change from commuter lines, monotonous high speed routes or modern freight-only lines. They would offer the opportunity for more complex shunting work and even more interesting timetable and train order operations where you have to do more than just robotically follow signals and SIFA. I just feel TSW is stuck in a rut - and US shortline steam and more complex operations might just revive it. Players could run the length of a railroad and do a real day's work, which is far more realistic than short runs.
Yes, it has all gone rather quiet. Not only nothing on possible American steam, but nothing for Germany or any additional content for the UK either. However, given the physics issues that transferring SoS over to TSW3 seems to have brought about, maybe it's just as well for there to be a pause while these are addressed before any further attempt at bringing steam traction into TSW is attempted.
Also remember that manual firing isn't a thing yet. I also don't want the safeties to blast at me every single time which would be improved once they fully implement the firing aspect. We probably won't see another steam route until manual firing is sorted out
