Since DTG seems dead set on dragging all us customers through this inane upgrade process where we need to download and reinstall everything every year, I just realized something that annoys me each time - every setting needs to be re-done from scratch. So for me, I use a sort of custom setup in regards to HUD, speedo, track markers, measurement units and so on... which requires probably a dozen different settings changes that I am forced to do every year to get it back to the way I had it. We already have a profile import to carry over action points which I really don't care about - it would be nice to at least not have to spend 45 minutes getting all the settings like for like.
I spent 10 minutes yesterday evening writing them all down in a notebook. But yes, they should transfer over along with everything else.
Agreed, this also highlights the fact the settings themselves need reorganising, changing the HUD for example should all be done in the HUD menu, but you also need to into accessibility. It’s a similar scenario for other categories.
Number one feature of TSW7. Settings carry over on profile import. Wanted that for the past 5 versions of the game. There we go, that's next year sorted DTG.
Hello, passenger! Feedback from our players is extremely valuable to us, and we have two places where you can provide it. One is on our official Discord community (https://discord.gg/dovetailgames), in our Forums section, where there is one called , and here on our Forum website! But under the category. I hope you arrive safely at your destination and thank you!
No I had to input mine from scratch. Only your DTL profile and in game progress is carried over. Luckily as noted I had scribbled mine down on a piece of paper beforehand though even then I managed to mess a couple up and had to scratch my head how to get the settings where I wanted them.
100% Agreed At least this time though, everything else (including all mods) was a smooth hassle free transition, first time ever! Also noticed the much improved loading time. Just need to sort my settings out now as per TSW5.
I noticed much better loading time too (TSW5 was absolutely dreadful on PS5) but I am curious if that will return once I have more DLC installed (right now console early access has just the new routes).
Too funny Vern, I used the "scribble method" as well. Sometimes you don't realize just how much customization there is, until you have to write it all down. It makes a great argument for saving these settings from version to version. But then again, sometimes DTG like to pretend that these are completely separate games, so carrying over all your settings might put somewhat of a damper on that illusion.
This! I personally use everything off with AP hidden and minimal HUD, as well as a hidden crosshair, and I spent at least 15 minutes trying every Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, etc. To turn it off. Also turned off the colours on the track and I remember being Ctrl+5 but this time it was Ctrl+6
I was wondering the same thing since most of my preferences were carried over with respect to my HUD preferences when I imported my latest TSW5 profile. I did notice I had about 10 profiles - some dating back to TSW2. I would assume that if you imported a dated profile - fewer preference would match up and hence not imported.. Only ones I remeber having to change was screen size and Motion blur.
