Using the shortcut to photo mode (L3+R3) will crash your game... eventually.. I have tested this on many different locos and can confirm that repeatedly using the photo mode shortcut will crash your game. Even one use at the wrong time will crash it. I think it works best in the external camera. Most of the time I can get the game to crash in less than one minute spammng the thumb sticks, but sometimes even calling it up once is enough to crash your game completely. Where was the testing before release? Where have the fixes been since release? If you're like me and would like to see this fixed, please test it out in game by repeatedly calling up photo mode using the controller. Then do Dovetail a favour and report this issue to them via the PS crash reporting service as many times as you encounter it. This way you are also informing Sony that their developer has a buggy game, which may increase the pressure on the typically slow response time from Dovetail developers.
I've had this problem on the PS5 several times. I'll be an hour into a service having used photo mode once or twice already and not long after the 2nd or 3rd shot the game will crash. I can't stand it. I've gone as far as saving right before every shot but I just can't bring myself to keep applying this method to my game play. I have since taken a break from the game in frustration hoping itll be fixed at some point and I can return to it.
Crashed after 4th on going it into photo mode that's the first time it's crashed using photo mode. This needed to be fixed ASAP
I always do a quick save before I use Photo Mode on PS5 as I never know if it's going to crash when using the feature.
