I'm throwing another suggestion for a route this time for our state of Utah from the UTA with their Front runner commuter train FrontRunner (reporting mark UFRC) is a commuter rail train operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) that runs along the Wasatch Front in north-central Utah with service from Ogden Central station in central Weber County through Davis County, Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake County to Provo Central station in central Utah County. FrontRunner runs south from Ogden to Provo with 17 stations and a total length of 81.2 miles (130.7 km). Before the Pleasant View station was temporarily closed, the total length was 88 miles (142 km). Can this be recreated if you guys were interested in it?
I'd be interested. I've driven through this area many times, and I have family and friends in the SLC, Provo, and Ogden areas. The scenery is very nice too. Also, the Frontrunner route should include a couple of UP diesels for freight services. I'd suggest a GP60/GP62/GP60E or GP40-2/N for yard and local duties and an SD70M, C45AH (ET44AC), C45ACCTE (ES44AC), SD70AH-T4, SD90-43MAC, or C44ACM (rebuilt AC6000CW and/or C44-9W) for heavy freights, along with UP autorack, intermodal, coal, oil, grain, and other freight rolling stock that could also be used on Sherman Hill. As for Sherman, Peninsula Corridor, and Cane Creek, we'd also have the SD40N, C44ACM (AC4400CW), SD70ACe (including the UP Heritage Fleet units), and GP38N. The UP Ogden Yard should also be included, along with industries along the line. Then we'd need the MP36PH-3C and Bombardier Bi-Level Coaches/Cab Cars (same equipment as Peninsula Corridor DLC; just repainted in UTA Frontrunner livery). I do like their red, white, and blue livery. It's very patriotic. Also, the Amtrak California Zephyr makes stops in Provo, SLC, and two other stops on this line, so maybe this route could finally give us an Amtrak P42DC or Siemens ALC-42 Charger (my prefered Amtrak loco) and a CZ Superliner consist in game. The Amtrak locos/rolling stock could be layered onto other routes (Cajon Pass and Sand Patch Grade; Superliners don't run on Horseshoe Curve, but the locos do with Horizon Cars). Could we get the TRAX lines as well? Perhaps that could be a DLC.
