I was just curious, if I'm in a train longer than the platform, why do all doors open? Doe is not register train location against the platform. I'm sure I dabbled on TS21 the other day and only the doors next to platform opened....?
It's always been like that. The system in TS1 is extremely buggy, and at some platforms the doors will only open on certain areas or simply not at all - it's not unusual on some routes to have the whole train in the platform and only 1 or 2 cars open their doors, particularly if the platform straddles two "ribbons" of track (which it's impossible to tell if the platform is without jumping into the editor) although I think there's a way of getting around it. Additionally, it's done based on if the whole car is in the platform, not if the door is, and it's very sensitive. So for TSW they seemingly went "just open all the doors, and we'll make a proper system later", and with Boston it seems they're getting there, with it able to detect if it's next to a low platform or high platform (and Matt said after overshooting on the preview, "Here it's detected no platform, so it's put the step down").
