Anyone knows if these scenario packs are career or standard? https://virtual-railroads.de/gb/13-scenario-packages
I don't know but I think they are standard - as most simmers do not like the career mode (speculation) - I think of all the workshop scenarios 99% are standard - clear indicator. And if they were Career - only official DTG distributed scenario packs will add XP to your score. If you don't like that anyway, disable career scoring to play them as Standard (with the feature of then being allowed to be late at stations which is not possible in timetabled Standard scenarios which have a one minute limit or you'll fail the instruction.)
I’ve said it before I run everything in Standard. I want to enjoy the drive and if my passengers or freight are late - it’s my railroad and I don’t get any complaints from consigners, consignees or passengers. My sweet talking always wins through
The proper tactic depends on the player's wishes. For all scenarios, yes, use the check box. For changing out one scenario with bad timings to be able to just complete it...yeah, make it standard. Then there's me. Edit the scenario and put a copy in place over the existing one. Then freak out for an hour trying to avoid speeding.
If that freaks you out why not set <SpeedCheckIntervalSec> to zero? Again - disabling career scoring has the advantage you can be late without failing the scenario. In Standard, you have to speed because the timetable is success or fail.
Yes, but you can have all that with a simple click without using TS Tools or editing scenarios. And disabling/adjusting timings can break scenarios that involve a train overtaking you.
Funny thing is I set it to 600 once and thought I beat the system. ...until I got a 6,000 point speeding penalty. Because it checked once in 600 seconds, and penalized me ten minutes after it happened, stopped at a station.
Torf You are correct - but even with your tip and using TS-Tools - you can still fail the scenario, and bring it to a grinding halt never to start again due to the "fail" instructions still contained in the scenario. To do a "proper'" you may need to use the editor to remove the "fail" instructions.
I was saying that no matter what time you arrive at a timetabled stop in career mode w/o career scoring, your stop is a success. That's the difference to a Standard scenario - Career punishes with points, Standard with Failed. Of course missing a stopping point is still a failure.
I remove the timetable timings from the “converted to standard from career” scenarios. No failures then.
Yes, I think converting to Standard in TS-Tools does this. It also has a “Timetabled to Standard” option. Meanwhile, clone a Career scenario, it tries to ask if you wanted Standard.
