So far I’m quite fond of the route, enjoying the variety and choice of locomotives, a bit disappointed about the talent 2 sounds, what do you guys think of the voralberg route and TSW4s new features in general
The route looks very impressive so far, nice and high detailed. I think I’ll enjoy it. Although I'm not sure how to feel about the thickened wire in the distance though.
Very impressive. Very curious how it will look on PS5. Already looking forward to the upcoming Austrian routes.
Altogether I’m impressed, DTG extremely did well with the scenery and I’m loving the depots I had low expectations but DTG blew me out of the water. The route could become a classic if they fix the talent 1 sounds, also the neutral sections seem fun, I would have so much fun with free roam on this route
Can you imagine trying to sell a new version of a game with the stuttering from the old game not fixed? Well, you don't have to imagine that
The stutter is very noticeable. Actually had one point had a massive pause and stutter. Some parts of the route does look nice. Other parts not so. The time table looks busy. PIS on the stations are great and PIS on the trains does work. Will need to finish watching and rewatch the stream to give my full thoughts
Does look nice, but my main bugbear with TSW3 was the stuttering on some routes, absolutely no point in me getting TSW4 if that remains.
I’m sorry I’m loving the scenery too much, it looks gorgeous, loving the new OHLE variety on the route as well DTG Matt DTG Lukas great work on the route, proud of the gorgeous scenery and good to see a nice international commuter route
So far I'm loving the look of the fog, gives the route more atmosphere imo. Can't wait to see some early morning steam screenshots in the fog, should be beautiful! Like how it makes the signals pop a little bit more too Edit: Just hope that it doesn't hit the performance too much which is my main worry.
Route looks fabtabulous with the scenery and atmosphere despite the odd stutter... Train model is good albeit I don't know much about Austria. Headlights are off. I'm aware of the issues with sounds though because at the end of the day issues, overall a good solid route.
Scenery wise, voralberg competes with niddertalbahn easily, and the vectron is gorgeous, it absolutely makes up for the talent 1’s sounds
Glad I ordered the Deluxe edition after watching this stream. The Vectron looks cool as well. I changed my mind on which route I will play first, it's gonna be this route.
Okay i have some things to ask.... First the stopingpoints are not correct in diffrent stations.... Not al but a few.... And other question that was noticed is the Vectron part of the EA? I tought it was only the main game.... And its coming on the final release The sound of the Vectron is stunning!
The route looks great, until that is, the train moves. The stuttering was jarring and concerns me. TSW4 on gen8 will be bad news I reckon.
Good to see that the Vectron seems to be very well done. Sorry, but as soon as they said that we’ll have a look at the Vectron, I was a bit distracted from the actual route being showcased
I don't understand why after 6 years we're still seeing them struggle to walk the fine line between performance and scenery so poorly. Where are the optimization efforts, why release a new paid game with the same unfixed bugs, and why completely ignore the feedback being offered for the entire length of TSW3 and for some routes in TSW2. Performance improvements were removed from the roadmap. Is this because you can't do anything with any guarantee? Should we expect performance to get worse over time? As each year a new paid upgrade with more features comes out, but efforts to improve and optimize the heart of the game seem to have stalled, and this is what you have to show for it. Very disappointed with TS2-Prototype paid version 4 so far.
Looks very nice, apart from the track which still seems to exude that slightly glossy sheen in certain lighting conditions. I've flicked through the clip, was wondering if anything was mentioned regarding the 4024 sounds or was that buried? It does sound very quiet in the cab, not RT1442 quiet level but could do with a buff for those of us who do like our electrothrash.
Route looks awesome. I love, love, love the more detailed OHLE, with the actual wire changes visible and additional masts and cable suspension hardware. That's a feature that must surely become the new standard!! Also loving the timetable and the variety of services. Looks like I'll need to purchase Luzern - Sursee now to add in the additional layer. I already own most of the other stuff.
The OHLE doesn’t look great IMHO. The spreader bars etc off the stanchions are borderline invisible next to the super thick wires. Scenery looks good until the trees load in. Not a fan of the new HUD, especially the top-left. Good to see the layer from Luzern. Lack of optimisation very evident and equally disappointing, you would have thought a whole new game would allow improvements to this…
The route gets an 8.5 Out of 10 from me BUT The amount of stuttering on this route is completely inexcusable
Ignoring the stuttering and sound design If this is the quality of the other 2/3 TSW4 routes then we are in for a really good time - the next few releases are good ones I can say that. Even if the others aren't as good we have one of the best British routes coming soon
They were up front about 4024 sounds. As in other threads, they explained that they were not given an opportunity to get the recordings. They pieced them together from other sources. They also said they are final.
The dropper cables of the catenary become invisible right in front of the train. Also, wipers enhance the catenary when they pass over it but shortly after the droppers fade into the void again. Better rendering was announced with TSW 4. The sound of the EMU is invented. The stuttering is still terrible. There is nothing Deluxe in this edition. Just another round of the same old. We will buy it anyway cause support is over for the previous version. Unlucky.
It's rather concerning regarding the stuttering, for the most part, nearly all existing TSW routes are fine for me on Series X, however the major exception is the Bremen route for some reason which suffers from so many micro-pauses and stuttering, it's so frustraiting. So, I really hope Vorarlberg doesn't suffer from the same as Bremen. Regarding Vorarlberg stuttering, could this be because of the streaming by any chance?
Streaming doesn’t generally affect stutter. It may impact overall FPS as less processing power is allocated to the game, but the stutter is caused by the game loading new tiles IIRC.
The Vectron was the highlight for me. Externally it looks great, sounds are very good and they even fixed the headlights. Its my first drive day one.
Ah okay, fair enough. Disappointing nonetheless that we're even discussing the subject of stuttering for a brand-new game.
Can anyone tell me when the vectron will be released ? Because there are two versions, one is that it will be released on 26 September and the other version release on 21 September. If I understand correctly, the vectron itself will be available on 21 September, and the updated DRA and all the old DLC on 26 September ? (if i pre order)
Again we have buildings in the dark with every single window lit, and lit the same way. I think this really hurts the immersion. Can't we get some windows blacked out, and/or some different colors?
It's a good looking route. The stuttering was noticeable and really needs addressing. I'd like to see some more Austrian liveries on the freight wagons, instead of re-using the existing ones (e.g. RCA livery on the Habbins) I'd also like to know how many of the lineside industries and sidings we can actually access, because just running from marshalling yard to marshalling yard in every route is getting boring.
Pleasantly surprised by the scenery. The mountains yes, but even close to the line side felt nicely detailed and inhabited. Other than the sounds which I’ll discuss below, the talent seems a nice bit of kit. Also really nice to see how populated the route is. I was worried it was going to get dull very fast but it seems there’s a lot going on. the new HUD has good parts but that little orange progress bar on the left only kicking in when you’re 1km from your stop is ridiculous. I don’t like having the massive visual marker when I’m driving along but I don’t see any other way of knowing how far i actually am from my stop. It’s also going to be a disaster if you’ve got a fully laden freight train behind you. Needs changing. The trains sound situation is a bit baffling to me. If you can’t access correct and realist sounds then you just shouldn’t be doing that train. Flange squeal on the talent is jarring, almost as bad as the 612. It doesn’t need to be at every slight curve in the track. Trains in TSW never used to do this but it’s now a recurring problem. This stream did speed me up in my decision to pre-order the game, which is something I would have done anyway because I’m very interested in what JT and ATS are going to bring to the game. I am definitely more excited for the core game now though. Let’s just hope the other routes will hold up…
Flange squeal is either on or off because of limitations within tsw and unreal engine. It was explained by Maik from TSG, but you either have loud flange squeal or no flange squeal. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...ange-squeal-on-every-train.72963/#post-706801
Much agreed. Personally, I also think the stripy pattern of the orange progress bar is a little too distracting and is hard to keep staring at it after a while. But, from what it seems, the HUD is customisable, so hopefully won't need it nonetheless.
Did I say it wasn’t? I just think time should be spent addressing other bigger picture things like, oh idk, the constant stuttering maybe?
I was definitely a fan of the scenery for this route, particularly the mountain scenery (hope they continue to do scenery on mountains like this on any potential future route), I was however seeing a lot of older assets (that tower flat block from TSW1 GWE) for the scenery which is bit of a negative as I was kinda hoping to see new ones. the train looks quite great to drive and I like the open views it’s provides. The train also seems to have quite a range of functions. Overall I’m positive about the route and very much luck forward to getting into it. I liked the sounds of the vectron and it’s modelling and capabilities seem great, however I did notice the seat seems rather high up but I could be wrong on that. (edit: I did also notice a scenario named “just like in the movies” that is the lines used of a song in an LNER advert what goes around often on YouTube, I did wonder if this was a reference, though it may not be as it’s with the Austrian Route ) After hearing Matt mention about no signage around the border, I personally looked into it via google earth, they’re appears non related to the track, however the very close pathways are sign posted with the border markings (these are region border markers I believe not national but they mean the same) not huge but I think they would be visible and would be for a little while to anyone on the train who sees them (the Austrian one will be a lot easier to see than the German one admittedly) I hope that may be a good opportunity to add them in the future. DTG Matt, hi Matt just a quick tag as it may be helpful. images on the 2 posts below.
