No idea why there's no official announcement, but virtualRailroads have released their brilliant BR218 on Steam. Comes with scenarios for the lovely Pegnitztalbahn and screams to replace the old and terrible DTG BR218 via LocoSwap EBuLa can be toggled between Day and Night mode. Seat height can be adjusted by clicking and dragging the seat. Scenarios feature Passenger Announcements.
You can adjust the SEAT HEIGHT? Wow that’s cool. It may seem silly that I am going crazy over being able to change the position of a seat, but this level of detail is rarely seen in TSC DLC! How cool is that! Maybe I need to get a VirtualRailroads add-on myself, I think I only have one from the early 2010s!
Thanks for the head ups. The Steam DLC isn't simplified over the original vR DLC I own? There are quite some free repaints for the BR 218, and some paid passenger packs featuring push-pull consists with the proper 'Diesel Tisch' in the control car. And there are official sound mods to choose how much and loud you want your BR 218 to scream when the turbo spools up. IMO one of the best German Diesel DLC. Now please vR, bring on the BR 212 and BR 221 at todays current standards of vR excellence, please For the older era, the BR 215/216 with steam heating, can these be derived off one of the other, simpler BR218 models by repainting/renumbering?
VR's releases on Steam usually have a few features removed to justify the higher price of the version on their site. I don't know about this product.
There was one on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=736544771834904&set=a.604519008370815 These forums are a bit restrictive, so focusing on socials makes sense. Unless the actual reason is that they have so many stickies that they cannot create more.
Just wondering if this DTG version release includes the full cold start option? I already own the full vR version and recommend it highly, possibly one of the best DB BR Diesels out there. Superb bit of kit all round, just remember to wear ear defenders, this beauty is loud.com.
I don't have the vR store version, so can't say if it reduced in functionality. I really don't like that vR sells each livery as a separate pack, compared to what AP offer. I just went for the Steam version, as €16 seemed like a good price and I'm waiting for Workshop scenarios for it. I've asked my friend Coasty to make some
However, if you buy the ExpertLine 218 i traffic red directly from vR there are free downloads of most other liverys. The same for the 2020 version of the traffic red 111.
The low horn is looping badly. It's not an issue for me, as a) horns are rarely used in Germany, and b) you only do a short blast anyway. The high horn is fine.
