Steam Wait For Service - The Next Service Starts - Fault Or Feature?

I tried using 'on foot' scenario - I entered a route 'on foot', then I joined a train and took over the control of the train (going from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley). After I completed the service, I remained on board the train (if I'm not mistaken, the game offered me an option to remain inside the scenario). I disabled the cab, moved inside the other cab and remained there to wait for the next service to start (where the next stops are normally shown, a message was shown 'Wait for service, the next service starts at...')
The time for the next service to start arrived, the red signal changed from red to green, but the message didn't change. I decided to start the service, closed the doors and moved forward - but the message remained the same. Even when I arrived at Haymarket, the message didn't changed (and there was no usual stop marker on the track.)
What did I do wrongly, or is it a bug?
