Drive Intercity or Commuter services across the three cities of Leeds, Wakefield and Doncaster while commanding 90s and modern stock. This is TSW3: Wakefield lines, Leeds to Doncaster Hello! And welcome back to another route suggestion for trains sim world 3! Introduction to the route The Wakefield line was electrified in 1989 as part of the programme to electrify the whole of the East coast Mainline. Currently the line is operated by Northern which does local stopping services from Leeds to Doncaster and back and LNER which does Intercity services from Leeds to Kings cross (as far as Doncaster on this route). I'll go more into detail about services Later. Top speed/Route length/depots the top speed of this route is 100mph (which is achieved on the southern part of this route). The two depots which will be included in this route will be Doncaster carr depot (LNER) and Neville hill depot (Northern and LNER). The route length of the wakefield line is 32 miles/51km (including the sections to each depot). Stations (from Leeds) Leeds Outwood Wakefield Westgate Sandal and Agbrigg Fitzwilliam South Elmsall Adwick Bentley Doncaster Leeds Wakefield Westgate Doncaster Neville hill depot Doncaster carr depot Trains and services coming soon.
Trains The two operators on this route will be LNER and Northern. Crosscountry operated on this route but there's no point because it only goes as far as Wakefield from Leeds. Class 331 Intercity 225- Must have it in the better Intercity livery (DVT southbound, Class 91 Northbound) Class 800 (I could have done 801 but the 800 will be more fun for the diesel power) Services For this timetable the Class 800 is also going to do the Class 801 services for this (unless dtg make the 801). Northern: Leeds to Doncaster, this is an hourly service with 17 services from 6:33 to 23:40. Doncaster to Leeds, an hourly service with 18 services from 6:01 to 23:35. these services take around 45 minutes. Possibly a few ECS and depot movements to Neville hill depot. LNER: 20:28 Doncaster to Neville hill depot ecs Class 91. Doncaster to Leeds (calling at only wakefield westgate), Every hour with 18 services from 8:17 to 23:49 Leeds to Doncaster (calling at only wakefield westgate), Every hour/half an hour depending on service with 20 services from 5:05 to 20:15. 6:47 neville hill depot to Doncaster ecs 20:45 Leeds to Doncaster carr ecs Scenarios Donny powercut- Drive an 800 from Leeds to Doncaster, but due to an electrification issue you have to drive in diesel mode from south elmsall to Doncaster. LNER stopper: Due to a Northern strike and passenger demand, drive the Class 91 to Leeds stopping at more stations than usual. Neville hill startup: Drive the 331 from neville hill depot and start the first service of the day as far as Wakefield Westgate. tunnel engineering: Due to a recent storm, the left tracks near Ardsley have been destroyed, diverge to the right track and get to Leeds without issue.
Bring it on and for LNER Class 800 that can be made as a GWR version later on. I wonder if there are freight locomotives on the route if yes then Class 88 93 99 Electro-Diesels can be made.
might as well include it, so we can drive from leeds to peterborough. There’s only about 5 stops in between
This is a Very Nice Route to be added in tsw3! DTG Need to add this! we need a northern route because we havent had any
none of these run there in real life tbh you only really see electric freight locos on the WCML so maybe we could get a freightliner/Colas 66 and 70
Thanks and for Class 70 it's a TSC loco that must be introduced into TSW 3. Here's its TSC description since its home route is WCML North. I can see this locomotive being recycled to become the new class 66
