My 5 and 6 year old kids love the walk on foot option of TSW2. They like to explore around and jump on a train and get off etc. The main problem is, it's quite difficult to actually find a train to jump on most of the time. When you do walk on foot, I find I first have to go to timetable mode and check the train times, then load up a timetable, switch to outside camera view and work out what platform the train is on. Then I quit and go back to Walk on Foot mode, and then pick a time 5 minutes before departure, and then walk to the train and wait for it to leave. This involves a lot of leg work and waiting around, which my kids (and I TBH) find boring, as they want everything to happen instantly. It would be great if we could either load up a timetable and then have a choice to either drive the train or ride on it (which would place me on the platform next to it, about a minute or 2 before it leaves) or go to the walk on foot option and then either be able to pick a time or have some kind of "take me to a train" button which would pick the right platform and time for me. It would also be nice to be able to pick a platform number to drop me at, rather than a seemingly random point in the middle of the station.
Most of the time I drive timtable mode, but this would be great to be able to turn up, have a walk around and go the the platform to catch a train, well said!
It would be easier with the PIS, a feature currently being implemented across some preserved routes. Namely those with the large stations.
Yes we need this feature, I have to go onto. The wiki to find slightly wrong timetables, which is annoying
