The Silver Line is a rapid transit line of the Washington Metro system, consisting of 34 stations in Loudoun County, Fairfax County and Arlington County, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Prince George’s County, Maryland. Five stations, from both lines’ eastern terminus at Largo to Benning Road, are shared with the Blue Line alone; thirteen stations, from Stadium-Armory to Rosslyn are shared with both the Orange and Blue Lines; and five stations from Court House to East Falls Church are shared with the Orange Line alone. Only the 11 stations from McLean to Ashburn are exclusive to the Silver Line. Five of these 11 stations began on July 26, 2014 as Phase 1, and six began service as Phase 2 on November 22, 2022. Half of Silver Line trains will be rerouted from Largo ( sharing tracks with the Blue Line ) to New Carrollton ( sharing tracks with the Orange Line) beginning on June 22, 2025.
