I played train simulator classic for a while before i started playing tsw3, i love both of the games, it makes me happy to know such games like these exist, when i played train sim classic, my favourite route was the west coast main line south from London Euston to Birmingham new street though i wished they would have extended it to Liverpool lime street. i loved using the class 350, 390 and 221s. ever since i started playing tsw3 i've been wanting this route as well as the trains to be added into tsw3 as a dlc of some kind, i'd really love to drive those trains again but in a more modern game. i've lived by the wcml my whole life, i got to see the 350s, 390s, 220s, 221s and 66s, pass all the time, i grew up with those trains and always loved them, i hope this message gets taken into consideration and i hope the wcml will be revived from train sim classic and modernised into tsw3, thanks for you're patience. have a great day :>
This would be a dream come true if it ever happens. It is over a hundred miles and would need several brand new trains to not feel empty and an massive route which could be a limitation to whether this route comes or not. But we can always dream.
the wcml is such an icon and a major line in the uk, having it in the game via dlc would be fantastic
the stations would go from London Euston - B'ham new st via coventry, but there could be a second dlc for B'ham new street - Liverpool Lime street, via Stafford and Crewe
You can drive to Liverpool Lime Street in TS Classic, albeit in two parts, Alan Thompson Sim, Midlands and North West Route 'aka The Missing Link' (includes via Stoke via Alsager as well) You can in theory drive Euston to Glasgow via New Street, I know as I've done it
damn nice, but a full wcml in train sim world 3 would be way better, more details in the line, more interactive features in the wcml trains. i'll have a look into the missing link
i also heard that Avanti West Coast plan to scrap the class 390 pendolinos and their diesel voyagers then replace them with the new Class 802s in 2025, The Class 350/2s are also going to be replaced by Class 730s throughout this year and possibly next year. it's unfortunate such glorious trains are being put out of service
So the West Coast route mod that enabled tilting trains and raising line speeds for the Pendo's is now pretty much a waste of money then
I do agree with you that WCML being on TSW would be a welcome addition, I just popped over onto TS Classic the other day after a few months of hammering TSW to death and the first thing I really notice is how dated it really is, TSW is razer sharp compared to TSC. Just need to get my TSW hours up to match the 3000 or so I've accumulated on TSC over the years, I'm at about 200 hours on TSW now, a bit to go Edit: 350 hours on TSW3, still a way to go
390s are not getting scrapped, voyagers are going to be cascaded onto XC or scrapped, it will be 800s and 390s, 390s are somewhat new and have a long life
Bring it on and for freight these are done by classes 90 & 92. 810 805 IET and can be reskinned or serve as base models for GWR 800 & 802 ECML South class 800 & 801. Needs to have the TSC Neutral section mechanic where you must wind down a class 83-87 locomotive
i'm sure dovetail would be up for the challenge, they've done it before i don't see why they shouldn't do it again
Not for a UK route they haven't. The longest is BML at just over 50 miles, excluding bits and pieces. Recent releases (like BCC) have shown if anything the route projects are contracting in size again, to match sales with the (wo)man hours needed to make the thing. Don't misunderstand I would relish a section of the WCML particularly if set back in the 1970's or early 80's with tap changer AC electric locos and Class 310 EMU's and including the Northampton Loop. But I've more chance of winning the lottery than that ever happening.
But in TSW it won't matter if it's scrapped or not it's a Train Sim World After All I'm hopeful while also get to see the London overground
Definitely would be nice. It's one of the locomotives and routes I'm waiting for in the TSW series. Though if I did get TS Classic it'll probably be one of my most played routes
No point in having another high speed route whilst the game is full of stutters, it would be an absolute stutterfest every couple of seconds whilst doing 125mph, bad enough on some routes as soon as you hit 75mph+
If it does come out and I learn about what the road has to offer then it will be one of my most played routes along with Southeastern high speed in London commuter and probably Birmingham cross City
