So I made the bad financial decision to give more money to this game, and turns out it was indeed a bad decision because right after purchasing the WCML and hoping to at least enjoy the promised busy scene on the track out of euston, I was met with not even the 377/2 or other dlc trains like the 710 or the bakerloo line stock. Why are the trains that were shown very clearly in the advertising missing?? Hell- why is the 377 missing when that was promised WITH the route??? Can this game just for ONCE function without issues PLEASE? I am literally dumping enough money to buy multiple AAA games, JUST to buy a few dlcs for this. I at the very least expect the product I bought to function for the love of god.
They made a ‘mistake’ in saying it was included. DTG makes a lot of mistakes, way too many - they have an awful lot of bad luck in that regard. Given that you bought TSW 5 on the basis DTG gave incorrect information, you should be entitled to a refund from DTG if you want one. It would, if I knew how to apply for one on ps4. And considering I've already checked the psn TOS on refunds, it's not exactly looking very promising. God I despise console gaming. I wish I wasn't poor.
It is a shame, but I am fairly sure refunds are handled by the platform. Perhaps you can show them DTG's announcements, but I doubt it will do much. If you ever choose to upgrade, you'll get the PS5 version of TSW for free (with all layers).
It’s quite sad that DTG never once mention that there’s going to cut out 4 trains from WCML and to make it worse the 377 72 stock and 710 is literally on the cover of TSW and we can’t use any of them and we find out a month after the live stream and I have the 72 stock 710 and 377 all from other routs and can’t even use it on the new one why can’t DTG MENTION these things at the direct live stream is really important but all they care about is the money and a new feature on tsw 5 is you can select what layers of have on or off why don’t they just let 8th gen consoles chose to turn layers on or off
Hi folks, Just to clarify some confusion on the thread, whilst you will not be able to find the Class 377/2/Bakerloo stock in timetable mode, or as AI on the route for gen8 platforms (PS4 and Xbox One) – the 377/2 and Bakerloo stock is included on these platforms to use on Free Roam mode, Livery Designer, Formation Designer, and Scenario Planner.
That's great bud, I'm sure that technicality makes it aaaaaallll OK. You do realise that's the equivalent of saying that even though you delivered a dysfunctional product, its all ok because TECHNICALLY the game code is there. (I'm not even gonna go over the completely unoptimised state and the fact that it constantly crashes despite running on the same engine as TSW2). Like jesus LOVE christ can you just be up front and honest for once. I'm a working class student, and you're STILL trying to pull this LOVE AFTER robbing me with this overpriced slop. That doesn’t make it right to not tell the gen 8 players they won’t have theses trains in a new game until the very last minute especially when it was advertised to have them it’s not fair to us players
I don't think Alex was trying to justify not telling us clearly what layers consoles wouldn't have until after full release, but instead was trying to help you make the best of a terrible situation. Admitting to deception might leave DTG liable to legal action, so that may explain the tentative nature of their correspondence.
Yeah it just all sad and terrible situation they should have said something at the first direct of tsw 5 about layers not coming for 8th gen consoles not the last minute especially when 8th gen players bring a lot of revenue to DTG hands down
You simply didn't inform yourself properly before buying or listen to the stream, it was mentioned several times which layers will NOT be available on the 8th generation. You can no longer expect miracles from tiny 8GB RAM in 2024. Even if DTG got some statements wrong, the announcement that different layers would be available on the 8th generation was quickly corrected. We have all known for years that the 8th generation has to do without layers more and more often, and it's not getting less, but more. TSW 5 FAQ

You simply haven't informed yourselves properly, rely on a single statement that was wrong and was immediately corrected, and ignore facts that have been around for years. Here, try your luck, but Sony will only refund as long as the game has not been downloaded or installed. In terms of refunds, we have it a lot better on Xbox and PC. I have a job and go to college for a HE course dude. Don't expect me to somehow know that I'm supposed to research a product that's advertised as is. There's no warning on the psn store and I saw no YT video from DTG about it. If I'm meant to literally go into TOS documentation or listen to a several hour (what i assume to be a adverising) stream to find out that I'm not being given the FULL PRODUCT DESPITE BEING ADVERTISED, then that won't hold up in court. That literally by law falls under false advertising. And about your point in regards to 8th gen limitations, this game is quite literally the same as it was in tsw2, it ran london commuter just fine, so how was I supposed to know that a different terminus in London with the same amount of trains will somehow work a lot worse? You're seriously tugging at the strings here to defend them. The previous guy has full right to call you a fan boy. This is a 30 GBP product, not a 5 gbp one. If I get an overpriced product I expect it to be the way it is advertised.
WCML has only two trains for PS4 London Commuter also only has two trains for PS4. I didn't expect so little for PS4 and Xbox One, but it is the same amount of trains as London Commuter.
Hello - just jumping in here. Apologies your experience hasn't been good so far. We've been updating here as much as we can when new information has come to light: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/forums/announcements.73/ Just a couple of practical things: unfortunately we can't process refunds, they would need to be raised with the platform you bought the game on. We've had to make some difficult decisions based on the capabilities of the hardware - we'd seen a lot of performance issues with all the content included on WCML, so we've had to remove them in order for the content to run. It's been our #1 priority as we've got closer to release. This sort of route is very performance intensive with the extra traffic, and we were finding that the Gen8 experience was less than acceptable with the content we've subsequently removed present in it. Also, I appreciate you are frustrated by the situation, but please try to remain civil. The team are trying to help.
