I have been told before that long routes aren't common because route building takes a long time if it has lots of stations but this route only has 11 or 10 not including Carnforth which is only used by northern and is not technically on the WCML.
    STATIONS:
The stations on this line as I'm sure you know are very limited and include Preston, Lancaster, Carnforth, Oxenholme Lake District, Penrith North Lakes and Carlisle. The length of this route is 79 miles. Many people suggest this line with a branch to Windemere which is a viable option and makes sense because its a closed Network and there is no point releasing it as a standalone route and while there are others like to Morecambe and to Barrow-In-Furness the Windemere branch makes the most sense, this short, entirely single track line's station's include Oxenholme Lake District, Kendal, Burneside, Staveley and Windemere. The length of this route is 9 miles. Altogether that adds up to 88 miles of goodness.
    ROLLING STOCK:
    Class 390 'Pendolino':
The class 390 electrical multiple units were built by Alstom using Fiat Ferroviara tilting equipment (which was also used by Italo for their Pendolino's, Pendolino means Pendulum in Italian which refers to the train's tilting technology) at their Washwood Heath plant between 2001 and 2004 as 8 car trains before they were upgraded to 9 car units, then after Washwood Heath's closure 35 of the 57 units were upgraded further to 11 car trains or 390/1s in Italy. The class 390 was designed specifically for the West Coast Mainline to allow trains to go at higher speeds, this is because of the curvy nature of the line which limits all non tilting trains to 110mph but the tilt in 390s allows it to run at speeds of up to 125mph and had the signalling permitted it 390s could go at speeds of up to 140mph.
The 390s run the Preston (London Euston as far as Preston) to Carlisle (Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow Central as far as Carlisle) services and back. (non stop with some stopping services)
    Class 397 'Nova 2':
The class 397 electrical multiple units were built by CAF as a part of their new Civity family of trains (which include: the class 195, 196, 197, 331 and 397 trains) in Beasain (Spain) to replace the class 350/4 units that they used previously on Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport services to Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley. Transpennine Express have 12 of these 5 car units that have a top line speed of 125 mph but as it only runs West Coast Mainline services and it lacks tilting technology its top speed is 110 mph.
The 397s run the Preston (Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Airport as far as Preston) to Carlisle services and back. (calling at all stations)
    Class 195/1:
(the reason I have opted to only include the /1 is because that's all that runs on this line)
The class 195 diesel multiple units were built by CAF as a part of their new Civity family of trains (which include: the class 195, 196, 197, 331 and 397 trains) in Irun (Spain) and Newport (Wales) to replace the class 142 and 144 pacer units between 2017 and 2020 and entered service in 2019 (the 195/1s are the 3 car 195s where as the 195/0s are 2 cars and 35 of the 58 that were built are 195/1s) they have a top speed of 100 mph and run a lot of Northern's services. The 195s operate the services from Preston (Manchester Airport as far as Preston) to Windemere every so often and back while also running the shorter shuttle services from Oxenholme to Windemere and back. (calling at all stations)
    CONCLUSION:
This route would be the first of the big Mainlines in the UK to appear in TSW3 and is certainly the most scenic portion of the West Coast Mainline as you travel through the beautiful Lake district and is much like Kassel-Wurzburg but better (my biased opinion) I think people would enjoy playing with some of the most wanted trains in the UK. To those who know that we don't get more than one train you are right but I would like to think that DTG would go all out on a route like this either way I imagine one of these trains will release in a DLC prior to this.

The correct name for this is WCML over Shap as seen on TSC. Want to make it fun set this in the 1970s to the mid-1980s that way you can Cruise along the line at the speed of 155 mph under C-Apt Class 370 APT. Which is only available and train simulator classic

I thought it was WCML over Shap but it really doesn't make a difference there isn't even a station for Shap

I would like to see a big mainline like this and I would say that this is certainly possible and can be done to a high standard if a deadline isn't set so soon after the project begins

Yes I would I vote for anything on the WCML .I would prefare the Era when the Class 81/85/86/87 worked the line but it still would be great .Maybe 79 miles would be too much for Dovetail to consider but it would be great it they would add it
