Watching the preview stream tonight, I can say overall I’m satisfied. Obviously there are issues which I hope will be ironed out, but overall I’m content. One thing I asked in the stream but wasn’t answered was in regards to a few lighting bugs, which appeared in certain tunnels and at Euston station where the coaches or the cab seems too overly lit. I also noticed this on Cathcart in certain tunnels / bridges. Can somebody from DTG please confirm if they are aware of these issues and if there’s any plans to resolve them, either before or shortly after release? DTG JD
I thought overall it looked good, hopefully some of the issues at least will be resolved in the release build, like the tunnel lighting bug and the PIS not showing off map destinations. I have seen worse night lighting, it has never been TSW's strong point. The route and the trains looks well modelled. Apparently the DC lines timetable isn't the full one which is disappointing and hopefully that won't be the case on release. I haven't seen anything which is a deal breaker though but it seems odd using a build with issues to show the route off.
yeah, theres a 90 min gap of trains leaving watford when in reality there is a 15 min gap. that isnt in the middle of the night. its midday
Oh another thing: On the map view, service start times were displayed as 8:2 instead of 08:02 etc. Will this be addressed and altered before launch?
That's not good hopefully that won't be like that at release. The busy timetable should be one of the routes major selling points.
Anybody hoping DTG will fix the issues identified on the stream tonight don’t know DTG very well. The fact they’ve previewed the route this way says all you need to know. I’ll be cancelling my pre-order of TSW 5 Deluxe. I’m not paying full price for lacklustre effort.
The fact they were completely silent about, they either didn't notice it with their dtg rose tinted glasses or, were totally embarrassed about it and were dumb founded, or hoped you didn't notice it. Take your pick. Perhaps this should be a poll?
They literally said in the stream it was a different build to the developer build currently being worked on ahead of release.
I never get why people rush to pre-order things, especially things that are going to have preview streams. You can leave any pre-order until minutes before release, or if there is a pre-download in place then just do it the day before. Why hand money over to someone else earlier than you need to?
There's literally zero reason to pre-order something digitally if you're not 100% sure, it's not like they are going to run out of copies any time soon.
