Steam Wcml Shap Class 87 Fault Light - Traction Motors

I am driving a timetabled non-stop from Carlisle to Preston
After coasting through the neutral section just south of ohenholme ( Zero Power, No braking) I have a fault light on the dashboard.

When I try to apply power, I hear a clicking sound and the power cuts out.
In the engine compartment, there are red lights on power circuit 1 and 3

I have tripped the circuit breakers for 1 and 3 :



Now I am able to get the train started, but with limited power using only motors 2 and 4


So I have two questions

Is this supposed to happen?

How do I properly resolve the problem and get all 4 traction motors working?

 

press the pantograph up/reset button

it's ahead of the drivers position.

 

I tried that a number of times and also reset the physics, but neither of these fixes the problem.

I was able to complete the journey at reduced speed.
