Before anything, this route would be modern-day. AC electric
Route: London Euston to Birmingham New Street
    Distance: 100 miles (161 km)
Rolling Stock: Class 390 - Operator would be Avanti west coast
Class 350 - The operator would be London NorthWestern Railway
Class 66 but I would prefer 68 or any other freight train i.e 325
love to see the 319 but it would be unlikely

This suggestion is amazing west coast mainline is one of the most requested routes however that is a lpt of content in terms of trains it's unlikely they will release more than 1 per dlc.

Guess it depends on who builds the route. Just Trains released Blackpool with a 142 and a brand new 47. Great Western Express came with HST and 165 unit, Southeastern High Speed comes with 395 and 375 (plus 465 which was originally a dlc). Although I guess any route on the WCML would also come with class 66 and some type of wagon for freight work as well.

All in all Avanti stock and London Midland/North western 350s are definitely needed to layer onto BCC and Glossop (Avanti only at Glossop).

Preferably at the point they still went as far as Milton Keynes for playability reasons.

It would be modern day and they seem to still go as far as Milton Keynes

I think Southern services may go as far as Hemel Hempstead now.
I don't think I've seen a class 68 go through where I live, mainly class 66's on freight with some class 70's and double headed class 90's. The class 325 would be great.
Some of the class 350 services are currently being run by West Midlands class 730's.

You are right 4 a day in both directions to and from Hemel Hempstead the rest terminate at Watford

In theory if the route includes the section to North Pole Junction you could take over the journey upon raising the pantograph and continue to Watford Junction (with the extra bit to Hemel Hempstead 4 times a day)

It would still be a nice route and would help fill a few ai gaps such as at Birmingham on BCC and Manchester on Glossop

it’s very dependent on route, this kinda route it’s a lot of missing basics and likely some form of backlash to leave out the commuter or high-speed services, so it would most likely make this route a 2 train essential route.

    ——————————

The 325 would perhaps be a great loco addon for this route, with the 390+350 being the base trains, 66 probably likely to be put in as base aswell.

If DTG arent willing to put in the work and give us 2 trains then they should pass on WCML

Would be a brilliant DLC but Euston to Milton Keynes would be a disappointingly short drive in a 390. 1 stop maximum at Watford Junction.
Has to be to Rugby at the very least for me.

probably wouldn’t be a question of willing, but I don’t think they would do it unless both trains can be done, chances are it would probably have to be one of the big 3 routes what are released in September time but who knows.

If this gets added, we need the Northampton branch for sure

Tbh now I realise it's not the route they would be building, but the trains itself. There's just too many that haven't been created and would probably make the WCML route really expensive and time-consuming to make.

Especially as the WCML container freight (especially north of Crewe) is mostly either class 88 or class 90 - which means a new UK freight loco as well.

I'd be in for that, definitely wouldn't mind a new freight loco, I'd say if they released the WCML in stages, for WCML South it would be the class 350 and 90 being introduced, then Rugby/Northampton/Coventry to Crewe would introduce the class 390 and class 70 and so on
