Db br 193 should be added as a locomotive add on , chiefly because this locomotive is very iconic in both freight and passenger services

What is a vectron. How does it look like. How fast can it go. Where is it used. How is it used. Why is it used. Where do you drive it.

That’s likely not gonna catch DTG’s attention you need to give more information and pictures that can be easily found on the internet and like we say “Google is your friend”

The Vectron, BR 193, is a modern electric locomotive, made by Siemens, commonly used in Germany and other parts of Europe. It pulls both passenger and freight traffic and is capable of speeds up to 200 kilometers per hour/ 120 miles per hour.

Add more details and furthermore, the DB BR 193 is classified in Austria as 1293 with Units 173-200 having equipment for Belgium and Netherlands. For the DB BR193, it can run on Ruhr-Sieg Nord HRR as a Coal train/ Iron Ore towards Rotterdam via Hagen Vorhalle Witten Bochum and Mulheim where it joins my suggestion the Duisburg-Oberhausen-Arnhem Railway at Oberhausen.

As much as I like the look of the Vectron, I hope if it comes to TSW2, there are different liveries available for it via different services/country use. DtG's endless development loop of German routes is making me allergic to DB red.

It’s not that easy to acquire different liveries they have to get licence first so it’s more likely we’ll have the BR193 in DB or MRCE livery

The first one is a Vectron DM not a 193. Why not seing the 193 in DB Cargo or MRCE livery as a futur update and made by a 3rd party developer

Why is it iconic? I know nothing about this train. I'm not going to buy yet another DB traffic red loco that looks a bit like a 146 / 185 / 101 with a slightly different front, without good reason.

The 193 looks not at all like the other locos you mentioned, to be honest. Neither are the 101 and 146 similiar. Not at all. For me all the english EMU's look the same. Because it's not my thing. But poeple who are into english trains know very well all the differences of the EMU's. Don't forget your perception of things is subjective to you - calling them the same is maybe your way of seeing them, but other people - especially those who are into german stuff - do see BIG differences between these locos.

Which is precisely why, when you're suggesting one as a DLC, you actually tell people what the differences are.

    siemens_vectron_db28michaelgoll_baselbad20200125bnan_.jpg

The Vectron is one of the newest and more powerful electric locos used throughout Europe, like the Traxx and the Eurosprinter it's designed with modularity and flexibility in mind, and depending on the operator it can be found hauling ICs at 200km/h or hauling heavy freight.

It's built by Siemens, and just like all the modern locos is available to run within any european country (maybe except Spain), and it is also available with a last mile diesel pack.

While the Vectron is very powerful (US diesel level powerful - 5.2/6.4MW depending on which version you buy) it's still a Bo' Bo' design (4 powered axles, two per bogie) so the tractive effort is not quite as impressive (300kN) but it's nothing to be ashamed of.

MRCE currently has various orders for various configurations of the Vectron to use mainly between German, Austria and Hungary. (Both 6.2MW and 5.6, 160 and 200 km/h and both the mono voltage and multi voltage variant)

DB also has a small batch of these which are used (AFAIK) only in Germany, although the DB's polish division has the 3kV DC version for use in Poland.

HERE you can see all the operators in detail

    Vectron_DC_kabina_Trako13.jpg
This is the cab, it's quite similar to the Traxx but there are some differences, IMO it would make for a different driving experience given the difference in performance between this and the Traxx.

    From ZuSi 3

    Real Life, very nice sound.

If some of it feels familiar, the ACS-64 is heavily based on the Vectron.

Well said but for the ÖBB version 1293 it might retain the use of Chris Lohner announcements for Sifa PZB and AFB like the BR 182 ÖBB1116/1016

That livery is gorgeous. If a Vectron were to come, I really hope it'll be the MRCE version.

I like this vectron, would buy it together with an austrian or swiss route, which both doesnt exist yet.

Since few years they started to scrap the re4/4 & 6/6 in switzerland, so i could notice some vectrons lately.

I have a blue paint of the Vectron locomotive here, for the ten years of ČD Cargo.

Does anybody know, why the heck you would opt for such a panto config?:o Is it a common Swiss thing? And if so, why?

    so many questions…

What’s wrong with the panto configuration?

Sorry, should have been more specific. In Germany this config is only applicable if one panto is inop. Was just wondering if Swiss use this as a common config.
As the picture shows a multi system loco, it could also be that only those pantos are available for the used elec system.
I would be interested to know, if somebody knows…

I cant tell you if they are inop or not, but its common here yes.

The vectrons are in a multiconfig to drive in germany, austria, switzerland, italy and netherlands.

Here a few pics (found in the internet)

Ok, thanks! That makes sense, if they are D/A/CH/I/NL locos, they actually have 4 different pantos. Not much choice in this case…

The locomotive has 4 pantographs. Two alternating current pantographs (narrower slider) and two direct current pantographs (wide slider). The configuration of pantographs is unusual.

For Alternating Current Germany and Austria former Czechoslovakia use wider 1.95m strips Carbon while France Belgium Switzerland use 1.45m strips Carbon for alternating current France Belgium Netherlands Direct Current 1.95m Metalized carbon while Italy Slovenia use 1.45m Direct Current copper strip. The exception is this is that some trains can actually run Metalized carbon 1.95m Pantographs AC/DC you can see this on TGV if under Deutsche Bahn 15kv 16.7hz.

PKP EU46 Austria 1293 383 Czech Republic. The farthest Western most point where you can find PKP EU46 Vectron is The Duisburg Oberhausen-Arnhem Railway since some of them have ATB EG NG 8,6,13,14 indicators

I agree and for the ÖBB 1293 Vectron it comes in ÖBB Red or Nightjet Paint as seen on 1293 200. Because it can go all the way to Amsterdam via Duisburg Oberhausen Arnhem Railway or Brussels Midi via Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen. There is also NS Vectron Paint.

The BR 193 is a really interesting loco, that provides some different looks to the German (and European) freight roster. I love seeing them in my hometown, just over the Dutch/German border. I actually suggested a ČD liveried Vectron as part of my Dresden-Neustadt - Děčín suggestion, aswell as a Captrain BR 193. However, DB, MRCE, ČD, Captrain, SBB, ÖBB, NS or other private liveries all look great. What might be of interest to US players is that the Vectron and ACS-64 share a common ancestor, the Eurosprinter platform (in game with the BR 182, but also the basis for the BR 152, 189 and Siemens ER20), from which both the newer Vectron and Cities Sprinter platforms were developed.
