I had my first run on the Tees Valley in TSW3 yesterday. The dynamic weather has made such a difference, I was only going to try it out, in the end I did 3 trips between Darlington and Middlesbrough, one of them in a torrential thunderstorm. Thoroughly enjoyed it. One suggestion, make the thunder louder as it's difficult to hear over the sound of the train. Maybe headphones would help. This morning, while more routes were downloading I fired up West Somerset. I spawned on foot, in a thunderstorm, at Minehead. The thunder sounded much better when not in a train cab, the way visibility is reduced by the pouring rain, trees swaying to and fro, very atmospheric. I was joined on the platform at this point by a load of passengers, all completely ignoring the weather, all dressed for a summer's day, spoilt the immersion somewhat. Maybe they could stay under cover if it's raining or spawn in much reduced numbers. I joined the train as far as Dunster where I got out. The storm slowly abated, the rain slowed down, the sky cleared, the birds started singing again, wonderful. The colour came back to the landscape. Unfortunately, and I've noticed this on Tees Valley and Trans Pennine too, the rain is very reluctant to actually stop. The sky was clear blue yet it was still raining from a cloudless sky. Another thing I noticed on NTP is that the lightning is visible inside Standedge tunnel! Apart from these issues I'm enjoying it and hopefully a patch will fix these problems. Well done to the people who have worked on this, many thanks.
The passengers don't adapt to the weather on TSW 1/2 routes unfortunately. DTG have fixed the near lightning/under cover lightning in the latest patch and hopefully they can tweak the weather so it doesn't easily rain.
