Hello, a couple months ago I noted an issue with the updated (or corrupted) winter weather, noting that in the morning hours it tends to be excessively yellow. It isn't just a winter issue, Koblenz-Trier has completely orange scenes, too. I ran a QD today, Edinburgh 13:55 to Glasgow Queen Street with the old 101. A couple minutes in I noticed black hills in the distance. Adding two screenshots below that show it relatively well: the ground beyond about 1.2 miles turns gradually black, and thus distant hills show up as such. The ultimate solution would be to allow me to pick weather based on the route and the global settings. It takes lots of clicks now anyway. A dropdown would suffice. Sure, it isn't always pretty English, so what. 1) The signal on the bottom is the signal on the HUD. 2) This image shows that it has a potential to be fine. Although, it's not how it was imagined... 3) How it should look. On one hand, there should be some color to it. 4) There should be bits of distance fog (blur). Exact color might be a bit random. 5) This is probably the best example of how E-G is supposed to look:
Some posts showing recent winter runs. 1) So, here is NS Coal District with pretty much the same weather / settings. Hills are too white and bland. But not coal. 2) NJ Coast Line is actually some kind of beige, cream, sand, whatever. 3) As far as orange goes - this is not Clear, but Snow. Note the fogginess which should hide anything like the E-G situation. Could make sense to have some of it for the distance. I generally find that distance fog would be nigh mandatory, most every game uses it, as rendering distant objects is funny in every possible way. Hairbrush mountains on Donner Pass, objects popping in, stuff like that. I hope the documentation is fair and convincing enough
