    to make the game more realistic make some of the freight cars weathered and graffitied like grain cars box cars intermodal cars and auto rack cars

    The problem is that the companies DTG have licenses with to make the stock don't want them to portray their locos or wagons like that.

    This just in: DTG is not able to add weathering to DTGX freight stock. DTG's license agreement with themselves prevents the defacing of any DTG branded objects. When asked to comment, DTG simply said that "we wanted to add some real dirt and grime to Train Sim World, however, we must keep our company image clean. If our fictional DTGX brand were dirty, people would think that we don't care about our rolling stock! That is not acceptable." In a statement released to the public, DTG has stated that they are committed to adding dirt to the game, as it's a very important feature to realism. However, a more dirty company will have to be targeted before this is possible. More at 11.
