...just had the magnificent sight and sound of the three RAF Hercules aircraft flying directly over our back garden, on their valedictory tour. Sadly too sudden to grab a picture. A shame these great aircraft are being retired but I guess times move on.
Oh lovely! We went camping in Norfolk near Holt and pretty much every night you'd have 8, 9 or 10 of them fly over and it was a wonderful sound. Certainly sad to see them go.
I had what looked like 3 Chinooks fly past my house a couple of months back, it was very cool to witness
Big shame (and premature I think) getting rid of the Hercules before the A400M has full capability and reliability!
That's pretty insane. Here's something more insane. The other night I was in Downton on the way to the forest and there was a plane on the left. I looked it was there, 2 seconds later I looked there again and it was gone. Then when I got to the forest there was a star and I literally saw it dissappear. Was slightly creeped out.
You're being sarcastic right? https://twitter.com/RoyalAirForce/status/1668861038664507392?cxt=HHwWgICz0bmR_qguAAAA
I used to live in Kirk Merrington which is on a ridge between Durham and Darlington in County Durham. One day I heard the roof starting to fall in but, after a moment of panic and a quick reassessment of the situation, I looked out of the window just in time to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (a Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane- six Merlin engines!) pass directly overhead at what looked like about fifty feet above the chimney pots and going south. Quite a moment.
Should come to Aus, we're about to buy a bunch more C130Js and they're expected to stay in service until at least 2030...
