Hello everyone and welcome to this route suggestion. The West Anglia Main Line is one of the routes that links Cambridge with London and is fully electrified throughout with 25kv overhead wires. It also uses the Tottenham Hale branch of the Lea Valley Lines.

    Length: 55 miles

    Operator: Greater Anglia

    Stations:
London Liverpool St, Bethnal Green, Cambridge Heath, London Fields, Hackney Downs, Clapton, Tottenham Hale, Northumberland Park, Meridian Water, Enfield Lock, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Roydon, Harlow Town, Harlow Mill, Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford, Stansted Mountfitchet, Stansted Airport, Elsenham, Newport (Essex), Audley End, Great Chesterford, Whittlesford Parkway, Shelford, Cambridge.

    Year Set: 2019

Trains: Class 317 Electric Multiple Unit, Class 379 Electrostar

    Training Modules

    Class 317 Introduction -
Learn the basics of how to set up and operate the Class 317 Electric Multiple Unit.

Class 379 Introduction - Learn the basics of how to set up and operate the Class 379 Electrostar unit.

    Scenarios

    Airport Express -
Operate two Class 379 Electrostar units (8 coaches) on a routine Stansted Express service from London Liverpool St to Stansted Airport on a clear sunny afternoon. You will call at Tottenham Hale and Harlow Town en route.

Morning Commute - Operate three Class 379 Electrostar units (12 coaches) on a morning peak express from Cambridge to London Liverpool St calling only at Audley End and Tottenham Hale. The weather is overcast but dry. You may catch up to slower trains ahead so keep an eye on the signals ahead.

Unit rescue - A Class 317 unit has failed with loss of power at Audley End causing disruption to services. On this cold autumn evening drive your Class 317 unit from Cambridge carriage sidings to rescue the failed unit and bring it back to Cambridge for inspection.

Football Extra - A football match is taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today. You have been drafted in to work this extra service from London Liverpool St to Broxbourne calling at Hackney Downs, Tottenham Hale, Northumberland Park and Cheshunt en route. Traction is two Class 317 Electric Multiple Units (8 coaches). Unfortunately it's raining heavily so take care when accelerating and braking.

Weekend Engineering - The West Anglia Main Line is closed between Bishops Stortford and Broxbourne for track renewal. Trains are running either side of the closed section. Starting at Bishops Stortford drive two Class 317 units (to Cambridge. Once there take over two Class 379 Electrostar units and drive back to Bishops Stortford. You'll call at all stations in both directions. The weather is unpredictable today so stay alert whilst driving.
