Just Trains released new screenshots for the upcoming route on their website, together with a bunch of information about available locs and others details. I won't quote their entire post, go and have a read yourself. There is a lot of great info in there about the line itself, scenarios, layers etc. https://www.justtrains.net/in-development/train-sim-world-5-west-coast-main-line-preston-carlisle There are a lot more screenshots on their website!
Thanks, but there's nothing new here? The article is from 21st August and discussed https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/just-trains-making-wcml-over-shap-and-br-class-87.83737/
I made a new one because that one didn't show up when searching for existing topics. I also thought that we could use a dash of positivity on the forums.
100 miles yay! Come on DTG give us longer routes, Euston to MK for a Pendo is a bad joke. It's JT who are keeping UK content alive it seems.
It’s looking stunning. I love the route in TSC and it looks like the standard set with Blackpool is going to be met if not exceeded. Cannot wait for this.
I think the bits about guard mode and route hopping are new. I am intrigued as to why there's a 47 with two 31s...
Back in the day (old git!) some Sundays round Brum you'd get engineering works with OHLE off so they'd drag the 87 + consist with a Brush. I don't know if they did this on this route but it sounds like a challenging scenario to me
Yes sir... does not even have to be 100 miles of the same route. Can be 50 miles mainline with a branches.
In TSC there's a couple of really good scenarios with 47's pulling nuclear flasks to Sellafield, wonder if we'll get that?
The length of the route is a big plus, especially as it is not just a high speed track with only 2 or 3 stations.
We will never get 100+ mile routes with DTG since their average dev time is about 4 months. Leave it to the third parties to deliver. Just Trains attention to detail is unprecedented. DTG routes have gotten better over the years, but Just Trains always go that extra mile. That’s why people cherish them so much.
This route is the only reason I even care about TSW5 right now. Blackpool Branches completely knocked it out of the park, wiping the floor with all other DLC routes.
In anything they'd take the Electric off (or pantograph down and drag) at Preston/Carlisle and shove the Duff/31 or whatevers to hand on the front and then divert via the S&C. Which then leads us to where JT may go next, be worth seeing if any of there's any trackbed extending beyond Carlisle's boundaries. That's one for TinTin_57 videos!
This route really will be the highlight of TSW5, I have no fear that JT won't deliver a good quality product.
