The WCML is the mainline stretching from Glasgow Central to London Euston via Carlisle, Wigan, Warrington and Crewe. Obviously they cant do the full route so I’m suggesting the northern end of the route (Glasgow to Carlisle). The major stations along this route are Glasgow Central, Motherwell, Carlisle. This route is in TSC and also includes branches to Motherwell via Airbles, Motherwell via Whifflet, Larkhall, Lanark, and the line from Rutherglen to Glasgow Central (Low level), if the route does end up coming to the game then maybe these branches could be brought back. Anyways the trains which would be added to the route could be as follows: Virgin Trains class 390 The class 390 ‘Pendolino’ is an Electric Multiple Unit built by Alstom between 2001 and 2004. 53 eight car units, numbered as 390/0s, were ordered but were later extended to nine coaches, and some were also later extended to eleven coaches and renumbered as 390/1s. These trains were built with tilting functionality and retain that to this day. Before Virgin’s demise they owned all 390s, now owned by Avanti West Coast. Virgin Trains class 221 The class 221 ‘Super Voyager’ is a Diesel Multiple Unit built by Bombardier between 2001 and 2002 alongside their not so super cousins, the 220s. They were ordered by Virgin Cross Country, who were split in to 2 TOCs (Arria XC and Virgin Trains), as 5 car units and most retain all 5 coaches to this day. Currently they are operated by Grand Central, Cross Country and Avanti. When Cross Country became a seperate TOC from Virgin, all the 220s went to XC. Probably because they weren't super enough for Virgin, being Voyagers and not Super Voyagers. TransPennine Express class 350/4 The class 350 ‘Desiro’ is an Electric Multiple Unit built by Siemens, with the originals (/1) being built between 2004 and 2005, the /2s followed soon after being built 2008 to 2009 and the most recent being the /3 and /4s being built 2013 to 2014. All were built as 4 car units, and every one of them retains their 4 carriage formation. They are paired with other 350s quite frequently. Most units have 2+2 seating however the /2s have 3+2. If this route does end up being added during this time period then the only 350 units would be the /4s. TransPennine Express class 185 The class 185 ‘Desiro’ is a Diesel Multiple Unit and is the only Diesel desiro. It was built by Siemens between 2005 and 2006. They are also the only desiros to be exclusively 3 coaches. 51 units were built and all remain today, also keeping their 3 coaches. Layers The layers for this route would be the 314 at Glasgow Central and the 158 between Glasgow Central and Bellshill and possibly if the line to Whifflet ends up coming with it (if the route even does come) then the 158 could be sent down that route.
Also heres another image of the 185 If this ends up set right now the trains would be: Avanti West Coast 390 TransPennine Express 397 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_397 TransPennine Express 802 (Carstairs to Carlisle only) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_802 And if this did end up set right now the layers would be the class 385 between Glasgow Central and Carstairs
Yes please, anything to get the West Coast Mainline into the game, I'd prefer it in the modern day for the sake of the Pendolino however I would not mind a backdated version with 86s/87s as it would interest some people having another BR era route and the first Scottish one at that
