Hello all, Recently I've been thinking about the additon of the North segment of the West Coast Mainline. This route is operated by Avanti West Coast, with a few other operators using the line such as Trans Pennine Express. The main train operated isthe Class 390 Pendelino, with the 802 Nova 1, 397 Nova 2 and the Mk5A Nova 3, with the Class 68 sometimes used, but I have not seen it first hand. Trains used frieght wise consist of the Class 66 DB Shenker, and what used to be EWS, Class 70 Freightliner and Colas Rail, and the Freightliner Class 90. There's probably more that I'm not aware of, sorry. This route is already seen in Train Sim World Classic, but, correct me if wrong please, the Northern segment is not included. The northern segment of the line could possibly start at Preston, and could go through the scenic Pennines and Cumbria, which having experienced this route first handedly, its a great view. The train could terminate at Carlisle, which cod pose the opportunity for other routes in the future. Stations after Preton are as followed: •Lancaster •Oxenholme Lake District •Penrith Lake District • Carlisle Not all Avanti West Coast trains stop at the stations above, I'm not sure about Trans Pennine. Penrith is quite a unique station, being built on a curve, which has intresting results with the tilting Pendolino. So, positives and negatives? Pros: • License for Avanti West Coast already aquired (i believe as their logo is present in the design editor). • Class 390 already modeled, just may need a few improvements. • Opportunities for future routes. Cons: • Maybe lots of development needed. • Need to obtain new licences (Freightliner and Trans Pennine). • New trains need modeled, along with new stations. This isnt probably the best explination but I hope it covers the basics. Please, feel free to correct any mistakes and add to this. Enjoy your day, Vulcan
