I was reading the various articles about the route and one section grabbed my attention talking about mentmore/bendigo the location of the 1963 great train robbery and was wondering given its historical connection to the robbery and the fact it actually occurred on the railway are we able to access this area and visit the scene of the crime ?
Out of respect for the driver who sustained injuries that may have led to an early death and the fact this was an criminal act for which most if not all of the felons showed no remorse, I sincerely hope there are no references to it in the route or scenarios.
Regardless of the rights or wrongs of including references to the robbery in the game, the location is definitely part of the new TSW5 WCML route. It’s a mile or so north of Cheddington station, so one could stop a train in that location and have a look around on foot if one really wanted to…
