This suggestion is for a modern look at wcl, This was considered quite an underwhelming route from most of the players, with the highly unrealistic class 150/2 sounds, and the delayed release, here's a chance to rewrite and improve this route. The route: Currently, the WCL spans between penzance and st austell, as well as including the st ives branch, being around 50 miles in length. For starters, extend the route to plymouth, adding around 30 miles onto the route, making a total length of 70 miles, which is completely do-able in tsw. (Image of plymouth station, not my image) If possible, change the branding to GWR, as they operate most of the services here, as well as that, update signalling, and add other scenery such as whistle boards, and more vegatation. The rolling stock: This is one of the most contrivercial parts of the route, with the reused class 37 and very lazily sounded class 150, these could do with a bit of an upgrade. Class 150/2: GWR (Improve by adding AP sounds, as well as adding gwr branding and interior.) Class 220/221 "voyagers" Could layer to birmingham cross city. (Working express services to plymouth, operated by crosscountry, top speed 125mph) Class 158 "express sprinter" (Using AP sounds, operates services between plymouth and penzance, layers onto BML for AI at Brighton.) Class 43 "hst" (layer from gwe) (Operating express services to/from london, top speed 140mph although 125mph limit) Overall: While unlikely, if approached right, i feel this would be a fun modern approach to an a somewhat disappointing route, as well as extending it a decent distance.
The funny thing is Rivet got the license to use the 150 sounds by AP. Rivet simply did not do a good job implementing it.
I would love to see the voyager and the Class 158. I suggest making the HST layers only though, same with the Class 150 that way players have more chance of getting more of the trains you mentioned in the game.
