Something a bit different to the hustling urban routes we’re used to, in which a route I’d love to see in Train Sim World would be the scenic West Highland Line. Due to the sheer size of the route, I choose the Mallaig to Fort William section of the line. Undoubtedly the most stunning and scenic part of the line. It features the famous viaduct where the Hogwarts Express, in Harry Potter, went over. Route mileage: 41 miles Stations: 10 End to end journey time: 1 hour 30 mins Included rolling stock: - ScotRail Class 156 - ScotRail Class 153 - GBRf Class 66 Specials: - Steam/diesel and any appropriate rolling stock for railtours
I'd love this! The like is absolutely beautiful and it would be lovely to drive a scotrail sprinter with the added bonus of the luxurious Jacobite steam train. Lots is possibilities for gaurd mode, etc. very nice and scenic route.
Would be an ideal route, especially with the new mountain scenery introduced with TSW4. Only concern would be a lack of services, as Scotrail only operate 4 trains per day to Mallaig, with the Jacobite Express running up to 2 trains per day in the peak season. That's only 12 timetable services (excluding any freight and ECS runs).
You could just have alot more scenarios to make up for the lack of services. But like also, the scenary is so good. Who needs 12,000 services when you can get the same magic in just 12.
Personally it's not a really a massive concern for me (I rather have an interesting route with fewer services than a dull route with lots of services repeated every 30 minutes) but others have mentioned that in the past including DTG on streams for reasons of not doing certain routes yet.
