The West Somerset Railway (WSR) is the only heritage line in the game and one of my favourite heritage lines SVR and KWVR are other favourites l would love to see in the game at sometime.

The WSR is among the most challenging of our heritage railways to drive. Nestling for large part in the foothills of the Quantocks, more than half it of its total length of nearly 23 miles from Norton Fitzwarren to Minehead is graded at 1 in 100 or steeper with a minimum of 1 in 65.

In the game DTG have brought the route back to life with the introduction of Thomas and Friends but although they said there would be no more stream in the games, l feel DTG are missing out with the WSR as what makes the WSR is a particularly enjoyable railway to visit, not only because the WSR retains the character of a typical GWR Branchline, but it has an excellent and exciting steam locomotive fleet which includes the 5199 Large Prarie tank, two Manors 7828 Odney Manor and 7812 Erlestone Manor, as well as a Mogul 9351.

I would love DTG to work and add these locomotives to the game and then say no more steam! You will see these on your visits to the WSR and surely these locomotives deserve to, not only be in the route to drive but in the game as well. How about it DTG?

Unless DTG relent their stance on steam for TSW, sadly unlikely to ever see this.

Keep the faith. Steam traction will be a constant itch they know they have to scratch eventually.

Hopefully the itch annoys them too much and they have to itch it..

A better suggestion, at least until we get more steam, is a few of the other missing resident classes of diesel locomotives/units. Notably Class 14 and 35 are clearly missing and deserve to be included as well as perhaps the pair of Class 42 Warship locomotives that were lucky enough to be preserved. The 35s and 42s could also theoretically be layered, with minor alterations, onto DLoGW as they are a perfect fit for the 1971 period around Paddington.

They also have the sole surviving (I think) Class 115 DMU, somewhat unique in having Leyland Albion 230hp engines and could in theory pop up on a period Marylebone commuter route.
