The lines that head out of Carmarthen to Pembroke, Milford Haven and Fishguard total up to 55 miles, a similar length to London to Brighton. A lot of work to increase capacity has been carried out on these lines over the past few years, but this route would be set before all this work, and during a time when services to Paddington from Fishguard were still running.
