Intro Hi everyone and welcome back to another Australian Route Suggestion. Today we'll be looking at Transperth Commuter Rail in Western Australia. I'm sorry about the delay of this thread. I announced the date of this thread for February 1st, but it's almost Mid April. I am back from a break. I was really busy. I've already created a few Australian Route Suggestions and if you haven't seen them, please go check 'em out now or after you read this thread. For the next few Australian Route Suggestions, please leave in the replies and suggest a route I should do next after this one. Other than that, let's get rock n rolling!!!! Transperth's Railway Network TRANSPERTH Transperth is a Commuter service in Perth. Services travel via Perth Station. Trains travel 130km/h outside the city. Unlike the other Australian Route Suggestions I have posted in the past, Transperth only owns a few lines. Transperth also only have 2 types of units which are A-Series and B-Series. Let's now talk about the locos. Loco Info A-Series Manufacturer: ABB/Adtranz and Walkers Build date: 1991-1999 Numbered: 01-48 AEA: 201-248 AEB: 301-348 Length: 48 m Horse Power: 1,570 Top Speed: 110 km/h B-Series Manufacturer: ABB/Adtranz and Walkers Build date: 2004-2019 Numbered: 049-126 Length: 73 m Horse Power: 1,930 Top Speed: 130 km/h CLARKSON - PERTH Clarkson to Perth is 35.1 km long. The travel time is approximately 40 to 50 minutes. This may be a bit short for a route in TSW2 but I just chose it because it's probably gonna be nice and easy to develop. All Stops Clarkson Currambine Joondalup Edgewater Whitfords Greenwood Stirling Glendalough Leederville Perth FREMANTLE - PERTH Fremantle to Perth is another short route except it's shorter than the Clarkson line. The line is 16 km with the travel time of half an hour. All Stops Fremantle North Fremantle Victoria Street Mosman Park Cottesloe Grant Street Swanbourne Claremont Showground Loch Street Karrakatta Shenton Park Daglish Subiaco West Leederville City West Perth Conclusion Thank you guys so much for looking at this new and delayed thread. You're probably happy that it's finally out. I already tried to post this like 5 times but this time it worked perfectly well. Sorry if this thread was too short. But again, I'm so glad that I got it in and I will see you in the next Australian Route Suggestion.
I have seen some cab rides on this and it is an interesting railway network in what looks to be a lovely city. Problems as always, DTG have shown zero interest in doing anything Australian for TSW, AFAWK they don't have an "Aussie" partner, there is still the lingering issue of Covid restricting travel not to mention about as far and expensive as you can get from the UK for research. i.e. Costs vs likely revenue.
Excellent idea and you can probably get away with this Transperth bundle that includes my Suggestion the Mandurah Line
