So I bought the rush hour pack, and even with all its flaws it's reasonably exciting for a casual player like me.
Only I have one complaint. I had hopes for this routes, given the huge advertising that some trains would follow as DLC.

The most emblematic cases for me are the Boston sprinter, where I remember in a stream Matt P said they'd even left out space for an eventual Acela Express layer, or the London Commuter, which screams for a Class 700 DLC.
Not to mention the german route, which I haven't played for much time since it's not my taste, but I reckon there's plenty of additional trains.

I have nothing against developing new routes, but I'm saddened that it's really hard to see a new train which gives you the desire to come back to older routes. I understand that simugraph is really had to develop, but I had hopes that it would get easier in time.

It’s too new to have a loco dlc at the moment. I’d envisage this year if they do, bear in mind there’s issues on those routes they’ll be tending too before introducing more

it's not necessarily simugraph not sure where you have got that idea but it's more of a case of license and probably the long scale of things that they look at doing stuff. Also adding another train to bml when it crashes frequently for people as there is such a high volume is going to be a waste in money which is one other reason I would think they would not add a 700 yet

Regarding the Acela Express, I doubt it's licensing issues, since their good relationship with Amtrak.

There's every chance BML would become unplayable at places (for Gen8 Consoles and lower-end PCs) such as East Croydon, should Thameslink be added.

Don't get me wrong, the section between EC and Gatwick sees 8 trains an hour of Thameslink (if I remember correctly), and it would fabulous, and Series X|S, PC and PS5 could run it well enough, however Gen8 consoles struggle enough as it is.

As for Boston, I can see the Acela coming at some point, perhaps this year, imo it would be a waste not to (same for BML with the 700, provided any possible issues could be sorted out), and the DTG-Amtrak relationship really is flying high right now, so I don't see why they wouldn't want to take full advantage of it. Also, the tilting technology, introduced in the upcoming Dresden - Chemnitz route, could be implemented for the Acela.

As for Dresden, the ICE T (DB Class 411 and 415) would be an good fit, for the ICE services available today as a layer from SKA. Again, considering Tilting Technology (hence the T) is coming very soon with Dresden - Chemnitz, it is on the cards.

That's my point, and I'm genuinely shocked that no new train has appeared on the road map just yet.

Realistically speaking, the Acela would be a better option because:

    • More People recognise it - Across the world.
    • The timetable is already set-up for it, ready to go.
    • It's the fastest train in North America, and this route has the fastest section.
    • The route could do with some High-Speed, so we can use the route to it's true potential, as currently we only really have MBTA Commuter (which this hsp46 would only add to) and the Amtrak Regionals.
    • It uses Tilting Train Technology, coming to the game with Dresden - Chemnitz
    • It and the ACS64 could form the core of a future NEC Route.

yeah but the Hsp46 locomotive would definitely be a great add on to the north east corridor Boston to providence route.

Was there anything in the q&a stream about the loco addons? The roadmap is basicly empty of it except the ones from tsg.

Yep, but not much. There is something but they are not ready to talk about it yet.
Don't worry, DTG will continue to release loco DLCs.

Why not both? Personally I would be interested in both Acela and new MBTA trains. Either sold together or as two separate add-ons, there could be the Acela added and the HSP46 along with the bi-level cars.

I'd prefer the Acela first as it would be a new layer, and therefore some trafic variety, and then new MBTA trains, which would probably replace the already existing layer.

I hope to see a few insight with the new roadmap format.

BML needs some BR era EMU's - CIG's/BIG's and VEP's, maybe even a Class 73 electro diesel and Mark 2 stock to retro the Gatwick Express.

Its extremely unusual to see two different loco DLCs for one route. The only ones I can think of are West Somerset (which is conceived of as a sort of museum collection) and Peninsula Corridor.

Don’t forget RSN, TVL, and SPG (although the GP40 was only released for TSW2020). There might be others too, but considering that there are at least 5 routes for which 2 loco DLCs have been made, it’s not extremely unusual for it to happen, and it doesn’t seem too absurd to release 2 DLCs for an already popular route.

Doesn't Rurh-Sieg Nord also have two loco DLCs, the 155 and the 363? Also possibly the upcoming Ludmilla. Sandpatch Grade also has two loco DLCs, altough one of them didn't get ported over to TSW2, with an upcoming gameplay pack.

And both the Acela and an MBTA pack would be great value to Boston Sprinter. So I see no reason why they couldn't be happening.

Not necessarily . Remember that SEHS and the 465 only launched a month apart

Who knows if or when we will get an Acela, we haven't had a North American loco DLC since the CSX Dash 8 over a year ago.....

I hate to be that guy... so just in case you're interested. The T in ICE T stands for Triebzug, meaning multiple unit as it was the first ICE project to be a multiple unit. The previous ICE 1 and 2 are Loco(s) and coaches. :)
