After seeing the new Expansion Pack for the 3 original routes of TSW2, I would like to suggest a new one, but about locomotives repaints! My concrete idea will be the following ones, I believe there will be interesting for the community: A) US Freight Locomotive Pack: There might be included all the big freight diesel locomotive models on all the railroad companies available: For example: - We first had the GE AC4400AC from CSX. So the pack will have to include this model on UP, NS, and... I believe the soon coming to the sim ... BNSF colors!. The pack also might include at least, 4 different locomotive numbers for each railroad name. Also different weathered conditions on each one will be great! Of course as there are some small differences between the them, as the position of the top headlamps (at the hood or at the top of the cabin / some front handrails design differences / cab display on different positions. Yes, this will imply just some small changes on the design point of view, but I believe there will be no mayor problem. The main task is to make the repaints. Which is much simpler than hard work on design point of view (I guess...) Note: Yes... UP is already available on Cane Creek. But anyway might be great to have it on this pack, including new locomotive numbers. - The second locomotive we have is the SD70ACE (*): Then the same for this locomotive as mentioned above. All 4 railroad companies it have it, so will be great to have them too. - The GE ES44AC is coming with Horseshoe Curve on NS colors. Same for this locomotive repainted on the other 3 companies. - Then this is just my speculation... : The arriving of BNSF on TSW2, I believe could be adding the... GE ET44AC (Tier 4) locomotive, on Cajon Pass route... So all the other 3 companies (and their corresponding routes) can have this latest GE model too. How they can be offered: 2 options: - A locomotive pack for individual model. i.e. ES44AC locomotive package only. - All locomotive packs, including all models. Of course at different prices. The last one I believe it might be cheaper than purchasing all the individual ones. (*) Special cases: - SD70ACE-T4: This locomotive hopes to be included on TSW2 in the future too, completing all the most modern US freight locomotives! But in this case only 2 companies have this locomotive up today: UP and CSX So in this case only available for them. - SD70ACE: This locomotive on UP, it had a great Special Commemorative Liveries set of individual locomotives. UP No. 1995 Chicago & North Western Railroad UP No. 1988 Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad UP No. 1982 Missouri Pacific Railroad UP No. 1989 Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad UP No. 1996 Southern Pacific Railroad UP No. 1983 Western Pacific Railroad It would be great to have this Locomotive Pack, as a different offer from the UP regular scheme. B) European Private Freight Companies or special scheme of passenger locomotives Another pack I would like to have is this one. I mean, today we have MRCE and Railpool For the first one 2 locomotives, and for the second, just 1. So this package might include for each company all the models of locomotive available (now and in the future) Railpool it has also the BR187, and Vectron MRCE also the Vectron. I believe and hopes the Vectron might be available for the sim this year!. There are also special schemes for passenger locomotives in Europe as DB BR101, and other ones. This could be another package. - SPECIAL NOTE: You may think... Why you are suggesting this, when it was just launched the new Livery Manager Hub software for sharing liveries created by the community? Well despite of I have noticed there are several members of the community which makes really incredible and realistic repaints, they can not get all the very detailed realism we see on the ones offered as DLCs. Please also notice this idea is only for some locomotives of US and Germany. There are lot of locomotives, and the EMUs, DMUs, freight and passenger cars not involved. May be another idea could be ... special Expansion Packs about freight cars from both Europe and USA. What do you think about it? Hopes you liked it and could be implemented in the near future! Regards
Actually, BNSF has ordered 23 SD70ACeP4-T4s that have 4 powered axles similar to their ES44C4s/ET44C4s. The PR/EMD SD70ACe-T4 prototype livery versions would be cool to see as well. I would love the UP Heritage Pack, as well as an NS Heritage Pack with a mix of SD70ACes and ES44ACs. The PRR and Conrail ES44ACs would be perfect for Horseshoe Curve.
I've been think about this awhile, and agree that DTG should do loco pack in the future for TSW2, at least for the North American locos. The GP40-2 pack on TS is a good example on how to do it. Though a few things here.... AC4400CWs Norfolk Southern doesn't actually own any AC44s, they only owned Dash 9s, which are slowly being converted into AC446CMs, which externally look like a Dash 9 with a Gevo cab. Some alternatives for that pack could be UPs Ex Southern Pacific and CNW AC44s, which a handful of patched units still exist on UPs roster. (7 SP and 1 CNW per Heritage Units). DTG also has a CP license, so if a CP route even came im the future, their AC44s could be added to this pack. For the SD70ACe, another alternative for it would be the SD70M-2s. Which share similar body styles to the SD70ACe. Both Norfolk Southern and Canadian National own these, would be nice to add some bigger locos for Oakville, even though it would be a short 30 min run. There are also many other locos that could be used for NA packs as well, especially if we got more fallen flag routes.
Blacknred81 Thanks for your reply and comments. I believed NS have them, due to its similar look. But despite of that, I believe it is a nice idea. Of course I mentioned first the big US locomotives. (The most I like it!) This idea can be applicable also to SD40s, and GPs ones too!.
jedi247 (Be the force with you! ) Those are really great news for me! BNSF has ordered SD70ACE-T4! So can be included on this model package I mentioned. I like this locomotive very much, so great to have it on their colors on TSW2! For me is clear BNSF is coming to TSW2, mainly when it was informed they have now international license of their brand and logos, plus they allowed repaint for the new Livery Hub!
Dash 9s look very similar to AC44s with the biggest difference being the inverter cabinets behind the conductor side of cab. AC44C6Ms, are also very close to a AC44, but like I stated earlier, they have a cab closer to a GEVO, vs an AC44. NS 8921 a C40-9W NS 8921, now rebuilt as an AC44C6M #4147. BNSF AC44 for comparison.

BNSF also has AC4400CWs (121 of them). BNSF has also rebuilt 20 of their ex-ATSF C44-9Ws into AC44C4Ms (Basically, NS AC44C6Ms with the A-1-A trucks of ES44C4s).
