So I just absolutely LOVE myself earlier as I was playing on Cathcart circle. Closing the doors of my 380. When I hear the rivet ScotRail voice very loudly say "North Berwick". I don't remember that being in the announcement recording list. Coincidering they barely did alloa and dunblane, I doubt they would've recorded 385 destinations that their a.i doesn't even serve in TSW. So somethings fishy. Potential leak???
Yeah I get that too. It only works if you see the a.i starting it's service and not during or at the end of one.
All we know is that Rivet are working on the Leven branch, but we have no official in-game screenshots. There have been no updates to the 385 either over the past few weeks either as far as I’m aware
That’s interesting. The 380 was by DTG which makes it even weirder. And yeah Rivet have been extremely silent. Maybe working on something bigger besides Leven we don’t know yet… Sad to say but it wouldn’t be worth getting excited for with the way Rivet have been with their recent DLC anyway so….. Hope you have plenty of Toilet Roll by the way. Nothing worse when that happens.
This is indeed strange, just did it with a couple of 385s and no matter what the destination, even the ones terminating at Glasgow Central, It still says North Berwick. The 385 being broken is no surprise to me. However. Why north Berwick of all places?
I was just about to post that one up. What I find interesting is why they flew over to Perth. The maps confusing lol. Are they planning an extension to Dundee / Perth ??.
if that wasn’t suspicious enough, just checked now, no AI or no playable services actually go to north Berwick in game, across the 3 routes it layers on. This could be a possible leak
Certainly one to watch, I really do hope that if it is Rivet working on this one they really knuckle down and put the extra time and work needed to finally have themselves provide us with a route of high quality, rather than the at best, rather bog standard products of the past.
I believe there are two random destinations on the PIS in the Suffragette Line DLC as well, one of them being Acton Town, and the other being Northfields (Piccadilly Line stations)
Liam just confirmed on the discord that these destinations are meant for the 38 stock rail tours from whatever route that comes from
I really hope that while Rivet are working on Leven, they are going through all the feedback they've had for Fife Circle and correct all the issues -- and there's a lot of them. It should have one of the best routes in the sim because it covers a fantastic part of Scotland. But the scenery issues, lack of in places and incorrect in others are frustrating. Also missing aspects on some signals, the list goes on. Before anyone says it shouldn't be in there, there's the sudden disappearance of some scenery around Linlithgow in the last update. Trees were not replaced in that location and some catenary went missing. The reason it should be in there is Linlithgow allows the chance to drive the Winchburgh line, but currently only in freeroam. It's a nightmare to create any sort of scenario using the official planner. One path at Waverley! So if you want to start a service there, the station is empty! That's just a shocking oversight. I really hope Rivet take someone on who can look at all their content get someone like DTG have done to give everything a makeover. West Cornwall and Edinburgh-Glasgow could do with some TLC to both route and stock. But I fear that won't happen, it just feels like they are pumping out a route and that's it. Move on. It puts you off wanting to buy future products from them and that's not good for business. If developers can't be like JT and pretty much nail it on day one, they need to be a little more like Skyhook. We all know how bad Midland Mainline was when it came out, but they took that criticism, and improved it. Now look at it, it's a really good route to drive and I'm itching for them to build an extension. (Which also begs the question, what are they up to? Nothing in the recent announcements - as a far as I can see - so I hope it means they are secretly working on their next project...)
Ohhhhh right. Makes sense. The 38 stock is a Rivet Games Loco DLC released for Train Sim World 2. It requires the Bakerloo Line route to run.
If you're asking what SHG are up to - they've confirmed they are making the Leven livery for the ScotRail 158 (to go with the Leven Branch update for FCL), the Cargo Line series is continuing; with Vol. 3 being Intermodal and Vol. 4 being Military. I believe that's it from them, but definitely some interesting stuff in the works - especially that military Cargo Line pack.. really can't wait for that!!
For me personally, I would much rather a Class 60 or in general; a new freight loco - definitely a lot more needed than a 222, in my opinion...
You couldn’t have said this any better. I’m really hoping more of the Fife Circle gets patched alongside the Leven Extension. If they don’t then Im sorry.. that will be it for the route. Nothing will ever be fixed and that will be extremely disappointing. History will have repeated itself far too much at that point.
Let Skyhook fix the class 158 first, unless you want another multiple unit with floating gangways. As for the class 385, it has broken PIS, broken BILs, no rain effects on the windscreen and it sounds God awful. Rivet Games are so bad, that they make Ubisoft, Activision and EA look good.
I hope they do... Bernina is one of the few routes that actually looks drasticly better than in TSC because of lidar. TSW does a much better job at mountains and winter. Would be very interested in getting it, if they complete the route.
Please no iconic class 60 from rivet. Sorry to be that harsh but i really want this loco (if it comes to tsw), made by a developer., who actually cares and more important not just releases a botched rubbish to leave it behind. Just my opinion...
Aye. Same is true of the 385 having Largs and Milgavie in it's destination list. By why have audio recorded announcement of it if you don't even plan to serve it in the game...
I guess they just gave the woman the list of stations and she just read them. They'll have a list of stations, no reason to go through and check if any shouldn't be recorded, because only stations that are needed are put on the list.
I just finished driving a service on rivet's Berninalinie and I must say the onboard announcements really add to immersion on that route, especially in the various languages. But at least it didn't say North Berwick!
Thanks. It really needs it. New people come to the sim all the time and when gaming is so expensive the savvy ones will see bad routes by a developer and avoid them. Rivet get a lot of bad press and the more it goes on, the worse it will get and as happens so much in other walks of life, even people who have never been near something will have an opinion, simply based on what they have heard or read. The thing is their next route could be the best thing ever, the most accurately detailed route you've ever seen with great DLC and yet, the damage has already been done. I don't want to see Rivet fail because they've invested in Scottish routes and I want to see more of Scotland, but if things don't change, I can sadly see it happening. Here's what I think needs to happen, not only fix routes but improve them. (Not mentioning Fife Circle here as already done in prior post). 1) West Cornwall Local needs a complete remaster. This is one of those routes I really regret purchasing. There's so much wrong with it, from the scenery to the 150. Just strip it back and redo it. 2) Glasgow-Edinburgh needs scenery work, not on the same scale, but the biggest issue is the 385. So many complaints about the sounds and the physics. The easiest tweak to improve this route would be to layer in the 170. Every time you layer in a train it improves the chances of selling more of the DLC/Route it came from. I can't comment on the Island Line routes as prior experiences with Rivet routes has put me off buying them, even in a sale. Which brings me back to my first point. The other problem that Rivet will face is competition. We're at a stage now where more developers are coming onto the scene. Great for us consumers as we get more choice but it does mean the developers will have to up their game to stay relevant. In my experience there's been two seismic shifts in TSW in the last year. The first was Just Trains entry into TSW with Blackpool Branches. Ignore the country, ignore the era, it's all about the quality of the route in terms of scenery, interaction, DLC and layers. It's an amazing route and when the class 87 is layered in - along with the yet-unnamed loco - it's going to be the ultimate nostalgia high for those of use who remember those times. They raised the bar. Of course, it means they have very high standards to maintain in the future, but everyone else now needs to play catch up as the early signs of the Preston-Carlisle route are that it's going to be even better. The second one was from DTG. They've had their critics over the years and in some cases rightly so. But remastering routes and adding new DLC for them is a brilliant business move. The reason I keep going on about Cathcart Circle needing an extension is that Glasgow Central is amazing now with the route tweaks and new DLC layered in. If I ever wanted to get anybody to invest in or start playing TSW, all I'll need to do is fire up Cathcart Circle and show them Glasgow Central during the rush hour. Any savvy developer will already be thinking about what they could add to Glasgow to take advantage of it. The most obvious would be a DLC that could be used elsewhere - like a 156 - and a new route/extension. And of course what has been done with Glasgow Central could also be done with other busy major stations. I'll end by circling back to Leven extension. Here's a chance for Rivet to start improving their profile. So if anyone is reading it from Rivet, make sure you don't just work on Leven, but you go back over the whole route and fix what needs fixing. You will know from all the feedback what needs to be done and if you can improve it, DO IT.
Sorry, my bad, I should been clearer. I was referring to routes, not DLC. And if Skyhook are savvy enough it'll be a route where a 158 and/or their Cargo Line packs would be at home!
The demand for a WCL remaster is so high that if Rivet were to answer the call, than it might restore some faith in them from the players… if only they get it right and improve their shoddy job from the original. What they should be doing though is keeping everyone up to date on the Leven branch, seriously no screenshots, no social media posts, nothing! This extension was originally suppose to be complete by the summer.
Hopefully working on the Leven branch and making FCL a great route. As a community, we haven’t exactly been friendly to them so I don’t expect that they’ll be popping in with friendly updates from time to time, only to get flamed in the comments. Look, it is what it is, they’ve underwhelmed many times before. They can probably rebuild a lot of good will if they can elevate the FCL route in the near future. Is TML the one that does Fernbus simulator or something? There’s a small group of people that swear by that game, I want to like it but it’s just not good
I personally think that Fernbus coach simulator is one of the better bus sims out there. Comparing it to the likes of The Bus and Bus Simulator 21, it far exceeds those games. The bus definitely has the better visuals and graphics, but because it’s in early access I experienced far too many bugs for me to enjoy it, so I was very quick to get a refund. Fernbus with its recent expansions offers the most game play for me. This and ETS2 are the only driving sims I play. Pairing this with the Thrustmaster T300 steering wheel it’s an amazing experience.
I never bought the route because of the bad reviews. I watched a video about the real st. Ives branch on Youtube last night and my god, that is super iconic with the almost caribbean style beaches running besides the line. Careful detail should have been put to that route, making those iconic beaches and resorts looking just right... maybe even pushing the boundries of TSW and using the so called "Dioramas". People doing sports on the beach, children playing on the beach, people sunbaving etc.... you could get really creative with such a short and iconic branchline. Make the whole add-on feel like a holiday! Heck, even give the player acces to walk on one of the beaches. Could have been an absolute showcase for Rivet, making a great name for themselfs.
No, this is something I'd like to see from SHG, as a part of their Cargo Line packs if we were to ever get lucky enough... I was replying to someone asking for a 222 from Skyhook, which is how this little suggestion started - I'm with you on not wanting Rivet to make the 60, Skyhook or DTG themselves or anyone else really....
It’s really the sounds that hold them back with the trains they choose to create… The modelling side is really good. I still detest how crappy the 385 sounds are. I absolutely hate it… 385s sounds amazing in real life.
l am not a fan of Rivet Games with their route designs. RG not only stands for Rivet Games but also Rubbish Graphics, but their locomotive products are not too bad. But no more routes, Rivet please.
Oh yeah. They completely ruined and botched that one. Totally messed [edited; swearing - DTGHarry] up. Barely like the real thing. When your on a 385 irl and sitting above the traction motors, holy moly [edited; swearing - DTGHarry] is that thing satisfying. You can feel the change in gear at 20mph through your bones lol.
Yeah it’s exactly as you say, making the route true to life with all the iconic locations represented properly. I don’t even know how this route got the all clear to be released, surely staff at Rivet must’ve questioned some of their work and were expecting the backlash. As long as everyone is getting paid right. When I look at the WCL I just think of my childhood. Travelling down to Herne bay or Sherness on BR 205’s or 432’s in the early 90’s. Walking on the beach, people having fun and laughing whilst soaking up the sunshine. Complete opposite to this route, it feels so lifeless. You wouldn’t think it’s a seaside town or tourist hot spot.
Ah right, I won't bother him but if I ever see him reply on any other threads I'm on, I'll definitely ask him about it!
