Hi all! Now that TSW5 has been out for a while, apart from new routes and new locos, what are the actual new upgrades to TSW5 that are really noticeable from TSW4? I personally did a quick test run on MSB on TSW5, and apart from dynamic weather system and slightly more polished graphics, I didn't really notice that much difference to my driving experience from even TSW2. Although the dynamic weather system was really impressive, I have to point that out! Obviously, I just did one 40 minute run and can't say much else because I'm still playing TSW2. Just asking because I just want to eliminate this feeling that I'm missing out bigtime by still playing TSW2. (5500km left to get the Platinum genuinly without shortcuts, and also adding extra trophies underway). But, after doing a run on TSW5 I don't feel like there's a huge difference in the playing experience. At least the jump feels almost negligible comparing to the jump from TSW2020 to TSW2!
Guard mode is probably the biggest change from 4 to 5 on TSW5 routes and birmingham cross city although its broken on that. 4 introduced photo mode and the PC editor if you like that sort of thing. Certain routes like Cathcart and West Somerset have been significantly upgraded, Great Western is about to have its remaster released too.
They didn’t really add a lot and at times TSW5 performance seems marginally worse than 4. Basically they put an incremented number of the box, a few gimmicks that not that many players wanted or bother with and three so, so, routes.
There was a fun bug/glitch/oversight where if you just got the free upgrade, it started with the TSW4 splash screen but with the TSW5 logo placed over it very poorly and too small.
TSW5 does seem like the last generation Ford Scorpio at the moment, that's all I can say for now... (And if that makes any sense to any old farts out there).
From my perspective the only thing I notice is that TSW5 is much choppier performance wise than TSW4 were.
Yep, map and fast travel. The rest currently feels like a slight step back due to the issues and crashes.
