What do you want to see in TSW 2021? Editor and Workshop? Multiplayer? Even better graphics (Ray Tracing, etc.)? Longer and more routes? Or a completely different feature? Which routes and locos do you want to see in TSW 2021?

    • Trophies that pop when they should.
    • Mastery that tracks when it should.
    • Better stats to track what you've been doing.
    • Place names and labelling on the 2D map.
    • Cab sway to stay off and not have to switch it off every time I open the game (PS4).
(I'd actually like all of this stuff in 2020)

I'd wish they make longer routes, not necessarily more but just longer. The current trend is that they are getting shorter with every new route.

Second, I wish they could connect routes, like NEC to LIRR and RSN to RRO. I know this is hard to do but I know they can do it if they put the effort into it :)

And last, I'd love to see a route that's not German, American or British. I would not care what other country they would add, but I just want to see an other country in the game.

About the editor: everyone wants this and requests this all the time, I hope DTG puts this on top in their list of priorities.

Do you realize how much of a challenge that is? Matt said it’s like trying to change the foundation on a completed building.

    - Better route selection in the main menu, filtering by countries
    - More information for journeys and timetables (length, timetable, etc.)
    - track labels on the map!!!

These arenť all that unreasonable, right?

Well, there's a big difference between what I wish and what I'd realistically expect to see. I would love to see the editor and steam engines but I'm not expecting them to be a reality in TSW when v2021 comes out (although I think we're more likely to get the editor than steam engines). As per the changes in TS1, I just think we'll get a different bundle of the newer routes (including ECW).

    • Longer routes (if possible)
    • More customization/options in the menu
    • Some more interesting US routes (I'm not a huge fan of the CalTrain route and the NEC flat out sucks)
    • More stuff to do on foot
    • Improved cloud textures
    • E d i t o r
    • New countries?

Definitely agree on Steam DLC for TSW 2021; albeit perhaps starting with something simple, like a GWR Pannier tank for West Somerset.

To those who want steam, how would it work? I really don't think TSW would work with steam simply because of how much stuff would have to be on the HUD and the sheer amount of keybinds involved.

Eh, as long as you have the steam pressure I wouldn't think you'd need much else on the HUD. Anyway, it come down to how Dovetail want to implement it. They could automate certain functions like in TS1 or have a way of turning that feature on but I'm hoping it will be more manual. They've tried to go for realism with the locomotive controls so far so hopefully that will continue. To me, the more complexity and keybinds there are the better... but that might just be me. :)

Another thing I think we should have is an option to give up services in the pause menu. I know if you wait a few minutes, it should ask if you wanna give up the service, but it never seems to work for me. Sometimes it gives me the option when I first step out of the train, sometimes it doesn't give me the option at all.

Say I drove a stopping service on GWE from Reading to Paddington. Then once I get to Paddington, I get the objective "Service starts at XX:XX" but I want to go do something else. Let's just say I want to take a Greenford train to Acton Main Line and wait there for a freight service to arrive and drive that to Reading. The whole time, I'm riding to Acton Main Line and waiting there for the freight service, I'll just have the objective "Stop at location: Ealing Broadway XX:XX:XX" from the stopping service I drove to Paddington and as a result, other AI trains might be waiting for that stopping service to clear the line which backs up traffic and messes up the whole timetable.

I hate it when I complete a service and then go to ride another train do a different part of the system to do a different service and the whole time, I have an objective marker telling me to go back and drive the service I got off of. Then that service just sits there and doesn't leave and winds up screwing up the whole service mode timetable. If there was an option to give up a service in the menu, I could just give it up to AI control and go do something else on the route while still keeping the timetable intact.

Just give us an option to give up a service in the menu. It would make service mode a lot more flexible, especially on busier routes.

    I would love multiplayer.
A train game with multiplayer it will change the way we see train sim world.
But i hope people play together.

Ps5 support, 3rd party enhancements available through creator-DTG-PSN. A start on longer intercity routes. An upgrade to the sound engine.

Editor. I wouldn't worry or complain as much about longer routes if I could build my own. Plus, if 3rd party devs start creating longer routes and better trains than DTG, they'll need to step up their game. Most of the advancements in TS1 came about as a 3rd party dev created a new way of doing things. Shameless plug to Smokebox for his steam locomotives.

And Matt would be right, with respect to (for example) any titles that have been built out for UE4 in a totally disorganised and ramshackle way. Of course, I have no idea if TSW falls into this category. Maybe UE has a psychologically disturbed AI operating in the core that has an irrational fear of trains....?

Other software houses, that have effective systems in place for managing their digital assets have hardly any problem at all. They welcome the changes, and the new features that the engine can provide.
