Heard people saying Midland mainline was in a right state before being patched up by skyhook. I am not sure what the problems are or were. Can anyone explain what the main issues were and what was fixed? Just curious. Hope Fife circle gets similar treatment etc with rivet!
There was a pretty big timetable expansion and a lot of environment/scenery updates. Neither one of those can be understated tbh More info near the bottom of the June 2023 roadmap: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live...les/article/train-sim-world-roadmap-june-2023
You mean not in a good state. First the timetable was missing a lot of services, consoles had a ton of crashing, scenery was pretty basic, the safety systems didn't really work properly and a bunch of other things. Skyhook decided to make a commitment to fix the route with several large patches and is still doing so. They didn't have to Unfortunately rivet have a history of not updating their content. They release a few patches but then disappear for over a year which by that time they've released 1-2 more dlc while there's a very slim chance their dlcs get overhauled. Every developer is different.
Skyhook only did that for MML after an uproar. They haven't touched their other DLC as well, and the BR 187 sound patch was an insult.
If devs are going to budget a DLC project, they should take into account significant extra time spent on post-release patches (or do a better job pre-release). What’s shocking is the state some content is at release, then simply abandoned.
