Here is a list of things I picked up when watching the preview stream on Thursday. please let me know if you find anything else. Here’s what’s currently wrong with wcml in tsw5: No stop car markers for the 710 Distinct lack of the 4TPH on the LO710 Watford DC Wrong and inaccurate sounds on the 350 Passenger density broken (peak hours is not busy at all) Low res decals at Euston station Lack of functionality in the 390 and 350 Lack of any sort of special services for the TT Lack of overhead wires in some places ♂️ Light baking is not very polished especially when in tunnels ♂️ Consists wrong for the 350’s in the TT No route or train branding on the 350 (dovetail have addressed this) Incorrect [maybe copied???] scenery between EUS and WFJ Incorrect Bakerloo line service timetable (from what I gathered from the gameplay) Incorrect lighting in Euston station on trains (maybe something to do with the baking???) Distinct lack of static consists in Wembley freight yard Distinct lack of interesting services in timetable mode. When in conductor mode the driver does not buzz twice at the driver, however this is meant to happen in reality (was proven it could be correct as per the scenario in the glossop line route) When in driver mode, the gaurd does not buzz at you when the doors close (rivets 170 and skyhooks 158 proved this was possible) Distinct lack of layering onto Glossop line and the Birmingham Cross City add ons. Distinct lack of suspension on the class 350 (dovetail have addressed this) In some places there are two AWS ramps coming up to a signal instead of 1 (from what I have observed these are at Harrow and Wealdstone and Hemel Hempstead) Power applies in the 390 even when DRA is set If anyone notices anything else to add to this please let me know.
Some of those are entirely personal desires and not any error. "Lack if interesting services." Interesting to WHO? If they just reflect the services that exist.... that's just being accurate? Maybe the 350 services ARE boring irl? "Lack of layering"... again, that's a desire for where you WANT it to go in addition to the route. It's not a failure of the route itself. It's you asking for more than the route from personal desire. I don't know or care about the train issues themselves. Not a fan of the 350 and never saw one irl, but some of these aren't things "inherently wrong" or errors. They're how it deviates from your personal preferences and wishes. I don't expect every tree to be the 100% accurate species. Yes they reuse assets on routes. Are you expecting a TSW route... or holding an imaginary standard ABOVE what other routes have?
That's the good old problem of which variant is displayed in thumbnail. The DB version did show up on stream.
Reminding me to be rather a major Rivet problem, than one from DTG. (Example five circle...) Also It has been mentioned by many players, that wcml likley is built by rivet. Im gonna get TSW5 on sale in about 1 year, this was my plan even before all the content got announced. What i saw on the preview stream + the comments here didnt "impress" me to change my mind.
Good to know, i really like using the DB version from ECW will be happy to have one with current standards.
They haven't done "the services that exist", LO 710 services run every 15 minutes between Euston and Watford Jct. but in this release according to the stream they only run every 90 minutes! Not even close let alone remotely accurate. It's a failure of the route. You are saying you are "not a fan of the 350", that's just your personal interpretation too. The much vaunted suspension system advertised as a major selling point for TSW4 a year ago has not even been implemented on a new TSW5 unit. But you conveniently "don't mind" because it's not a train you have seen IRL. Really?.
The state WCML seems likely to release in is far from acceptable but not sure we really needed another thread, for DTG to ignore, when there are already at least two covering the topic already. Best plan of action if not happy is simply not to buy or cancel your preorder as I think I might be about to do (again), take the free update and wait for Christmas or Easter when the whole shebang will be on sale for 50% off.
The 350 sounded fine to me too. I hear them regularly. What interesting services does the OP want? Apart from a variety of traffic and interactions, a service is just what it is in the timetable. A toc probably doesn't want there to be any "interesting" services. Unless you have played them all we don't know whether they are interesting or not. Missing services are more of a concern to me.
